This Monday will mark 5 years without my dad. It still feels like he disappeared. I took this picture July 2nd, a day before what would have been his 77th birthday. His last pack of cigarettes, right where he left them, just frozen in time. My dad left a pair of shoes and some painting pants at my house and I have still never moved them from that spot. by @allisonvpaintings

Coming soon, the full reveal 🐟 really proud to have finished this 48x36 in just two months. I’m ready to open up a 24x30 commission. Interested? Send me a message! by @allisonvpaintings

Yep. Found a new batch of old photos. Here are a few good ones, I have saved the best for last. Probably another 12 year old me (swimming in that faux Michigan Starter jacket), 16, 15, 20 and a later 12, right before I started going to public schools. Yes I did that to my eyebrows. by @allisonvpaintings

1998, 12 year old me. I still think about this outfit. 🫠 by @allisonvpaintings

A project that I’ve been meaning to take on- this is some of the paper towel that I’ve used over the past few months to clean and blot paintbrushes. I saved about 12 pieces. Used a pot that has no drainage and no idea where it came from. Adhered with a little Mod Podge. Zero waste and really pretty. by @allisonvpaintings

Happy Fathers Day, dad. I miss you. You and mom would have celebrated your 50th wedding anniversary this weekend. 🤍 I’ll take her somewhere nice this coming week and we’ll be thinking about you. How funny and kind you were and how good of a dad you were. I’ve been saying this for almost 5 years now, I hope wherever you are in the universe, you’ve got your mini cooper and your driving all of the cats around. 😎 by @allisonvpaintings

We’ve spent months working on this crazy idea and we’re so excited to announce we’ve partnered with some of our favorite local spots across the city to place a handful of our favorite artists into small and independent businesses. We’re quite literally throwing art up all over this city and we’re calling it “TVB On the Move”. On the Move” will run from May 30th through the month of June and feature 8 artists in 7 businesses around Detroit, the best city in the world for emerging artists. Catch a show on the move, and come visit the gallery in the future to get your finger on the pulse of the local art scene.

We launch this Saturday May 30th! And here’s a little itinerary for the day!

12 pm - @flamingovintagedetroit featuring the art of @gracequeenart
