I am so grateful to announce that I’ll be a panelist at the 12th International Youth Conference (IYC12) in New York City during UNGA80 High-Level Week!

📅 September 24–27, 2025
🕛 I’ll be speaking on Sept 25th at 12:00 PM on the Youth Empowerment & Capacity Building session.

This global gathering brings together youth leaders, changemakers, and innovators under the theme “Youth Solutions for a Changing World.” Hosted by the International Organization of Youth in collaboration with UN agencies and partners, IYC12 is a youth-led contribution to the UN@80 Initiative, offering bold recommendations and real-world solutions from young voices worldwide.

Front page news in the town that raised me. 🤭 I still can’t believe it. It feels surreal in the best way and also like one big reminder of why I care so deeply about this work. Pouring into young people has changed my life just as much as I hope it’s changing theirs, and moments like this make me even more excited for what’s ahead.

Growing up, I watched people doing amazing things and making an impact, and it all felt so far away from anything I could ever reach. I hope that when little kids see me now, they know I’m just a girl who is still figuring life out. There is nothing “special” or perfect about me. I’m simply sharing my very human experiences and hoping they help someone else. If I can do this, they can too.

This isn’t just my moment. It belongs to every kid who’s learning to trust their voice, every teacher or mentor who shows up when it matters, and every person who believes that the next generation deserves the very best from us. Join me in empowering the next generation and creating spaces where they can dream bigger than their circumstances.

Thank you to this community for lifting me up and cheering me on. And thank you to Amanda for telling this story.

This past week, I’ve struggled to find the words for this situation. I pray that you’re at peace and resting in heaven.💗🪽

They say iron sharpens iron, and Chris sharpened everyone around him. There was truly no one else who challenged me to be better, do better, and show up better. When I was younger, I didn’t always understand why he pushed me so hard, called me out constantly, but looking back, I can honestly say I’m better because of it.

No matter what, Chris touched so many lives. The village that has shown up for Chris and for our family has been the silver lining in all of this. It’s a reflection of the impact he had on so many people.

Thank you for calling us out when we were being stupid, for pushing us to be better, and for always showing up to watch us grow and thrive. We are all better because we knew you, and we’ll carry those lessons with us forever. by @allistovall

Today is my last day of being 22, here’s 22 things I’ve learned this year:

1. Hope is a discipline. You choose it, even on the hard days.
2. You don’t have to be everything to everyone to be enough.
3. You are strongest when you stop trying to prove you’re strong.
4. You can love people and still choose distance. Both can be true.
5. You don’t need permission to lead. You already are.
6. You can, in fact, be both overdressed and underprepared at the same time.
7. Being early feels awkward; being late feels worse.
8. The younger version of you would be proud of who you’re becoming.
9. You are allowed to want more without feeling ungrateful.
10. No one is a mind reader, just ask for what you want.
11. You don’t have to explain every decision to be valid.
12. Free things usually come with strings. Read the fine print.
13. You can love what you do and still need a break from it.
14. If you wouldn’t take advice from them, don’t take their criticism.
15. You’re doing better than it feels on the hard days.
16. If I don’t like it immediately, I definitely won’t like it later.
17. Lists are comforting.
18. I actually do know what I want, I just like seeing all the options first.
19. ChatGPT is efficiency at its finest.
20. I don’t want to be impressive. I want to be effective.
21. There’s a difference between being needed and being valued.
22. Choose clarity over comfort. Every time. by @allistovall
