Ángeless is a character I thought of back in 2023, I used to play lots of overwatch 2, and back then I had inner anger against how life (socially and politically) works. Feelings of unfairness, frustration, and mindset-flipped days. Inner thoughts, thinking about past bad decisions and the energy to change everything around me. A bitter time. Maybe the design has nothing to do with it, but the feelings are implied lol. A daylight vigilante in a futuristic like world. Liked the idea of light and opaque colors (Angel - less). Gonna post more about how his helmet works later, but for now just wanted to define his look.

The urge to redesign some OCs I created in the past consumed me. This is Mantis, again.

She's inspired by one of my coworkers and friend. Portraited as someone pretty, who seems attractive to a lot of people, but she's not into "it".

Around the time I had her idea in mind, we used to hang out a lot. We went to the beach with some other friends and we were dreaming and thinking about the -concept- of having a chill time/life. Both with a passion for bedroom pop, and indie pop music, and even created a playlist together.
The first idea was a hippie, botanist, with a witchy vibe (green witch) with a carnivorous plant friend that defends her. But at the same time, I wanted them to be somewhat fused, that's where the redesign comes in. Of course, inspired by poison ivy, but Mantis doesn't control plants, she is the plant. I liked the idea of having an open-mouthed carnivorous plant as a hat a lot. Wanted something sweet and chill like a flower, but dangerous as a carnivorous plant, a living trap.

Most of the time when I think of a concept, I create a playlist with the vibe of the character, "Men I Trust" being a high influence.
