thursday 4/30, skatepark doors 7

last minute fundraiser for @cbtel2020 and EarthFirst! BIPOC spoke

Cbtel is a black and brown led mutual aid organization that focuses on supporting local bipoc community through food distro and fundraising. Started during the pandemic to support the many poc who access to income, especially those disabled or without social support, cbtel has survived many transformations over the years to continue doing good work. please give them support @cbtel2020

EarthFirst! which is a national land defense network. Founded over forty years ago on principles of decolonization, biocentrism, no compromise, direct action, the network of ef has been a little known yet significant part of american land defense history. i recently learned that loyalsock national park was one of the areas successfully protected from development by ef members. I was recruited last year to help strengthen its mission of decolonization by revitalizing relationship to BIPOC, especially native community and land workers, as it has like other movements a troubled relationship to diversity despite many attempts. part of my work has been on redirecting its programming in its annual gathering to be more relevant to non white peoples and to integrate art as a pathway towards radical world building. i have been working on this for a year and will be leaving for a while to meet with local organizers and native communities on the ground. more info can be found on @earthfirstjournal. i hope that by learning more about ef, people will feel more empowered to protect the environment around them as our forests, meadows and bodies of water come increasingly under threat from data & detention centers, gentrification, and resource extraction. these places are protected only by the commitment and passion of ordinary people; anyone can be a part. if funds are not necessary for ef i will disperse them to philly based land initiatives.

times are hard, but would love if people would come out the causes near to my heart. by @allmutable

information about nada: https://acudetox.com

nuna @vetiverana will be documenting the festival both days

for performers with a content warning, we will be making an announcement before each performance so people can choose to witness or take a moment for themselves.

unfortunately sheil was injured and as a result we will not be offering a movement workshop anymore!

there will be a video installation featuring archival work by artists who couldn’t be present but have generously contributed footage: kate williams @temp.girl.1.2.3 , mono feo @monofeo77, tooth lifeless @toothlifeless , 0116688 @0ll668 , and of course hometown star jordan deal @jordandealart.

free but donations will be welcome which will all go to our artists and vendors! doors at 7, performances at 8 each day.

venue is not wheelchair accessible, with a few steps into the building—there is an elevator inside the site.

first poster by cash, second by me.

thank you so much again blanche and vox for literally everything

also want to thank leo for renting his equipment, joshy for helping with sound, syd for overseeing projections, kator for being vox member on deck, tim & cherry for helping with equipment, jazz for their wisdom. will be adding more thanks and more thanks as i think of it!

while they couldn’t join us for time constraints reasons, we will have information from juntos @vamos_juntos_ available—please support them now!

for more info on the show ‘s themes go to our last spasm post.

this festival is dedicated to the everlasting fire that is mango/lawu.
