We do a little investing. In myself. My hobbies. My interests. My goals. My social life. My spirituality.

It’ll be a hard balance but I’m up for the challenge. Cars, photography, money, friends, hiking. I’m so excited for this coming car season specifically.

It’s a weird thing to have been posting “come back” posts on and off over the years, but if it’s an indication of anything, it’s that I have a deep appreciation and love for these interests of mine. Through the ups and downs of life, I’ve never stopped loving this exact thing and a part of me is grateful that it went the way it did. Over time I’ve come to appreciate the art of it all more and less the idea of any possibility of success or income. I want to create this art and be involved in the car scene because I genuinely love it.

There’s a lot of good on the horizon.

Only few things in this world exist that I hold more dear than Oregon.

If there are pictures that get me more emotional than these, I have yet to find them. Oregon is my favorite place on Earth. (I have not been to everywhere on Earth, yet.) The sadness I felt watching it disappear out of the airplane window, imagining the adventures I could be on in the vast wilderness, indescribable. I’m torn between two of my loves of New England and Oregon. If I could exist simultaneously in both, I would. Two wholly different experiences, yet both mean the world to me, which is something I do not say lightly, as only the things of utmost importance are deserved of that description. One day I’ll live in Oregon. I’ll fulfill my dreams there and I WILL fulfill my dreams here, in Connecticut.

OH how I long to return to Maine. These were some practice photos (on a kit lens) I took on my trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia in 2022, about a month prior to my trip to Oregon. My heart longs for very few things more than Oregon… Anyway. I decided to catch a sunrise on the east coast here in Maine, and a sunset on the west coast out in Oregon. I decided to touch the Atlantic Ocean in Maine and the Pacific in Oregon. Again, about a month apart. Really low level stuff, I know, but it means a lot to me. I hold that within myself and it has special meaning in my heart. I was getting sort of emotional going through these pictures, listening to some music and sipping a beer.
I miss traveling. Truth be told, this year I’ve been to quite a lot of places, but it was a bit sour. It didn’t have the same meaning to me as 2022. In 2022, I went to Maine, then Oregon and Vermont a couple times. 2025 will be the year I return to Oregon. I’ll go to Manhattan again, Vermont of course, hopefully knock out all of the big hikes I want AND travel somewhere new. 2026 will hopefully be Europe. #maine #barharbor #acadianationalpark #acadia #newengland taken in Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, ME by @allrvetr

The E30 guys really showed up! There were at least 4 on this block alone, and of course, being an appreciator of the E30, I had to get some photos. Here are photos of 2 of my favorite E30s, maybe them both adorning M3 badges had something to do with that 😉. The BMW E30 M3 was always an interesting car to me. When we think of the M3 nowadays, we think of extremely capable, powerful cars with a high revving V8 or a powerful turbo I6, but the M3 started out with a simple, 200hp 4 cylinder, something you can find in a current day Mazda 3. This car, though, sporting factory wide body and a lightweight chassis, is more beautiful and probably more fun than almost any BMW since (E38 would like to have a chat) and likely a much more connected and responsive vehicle. This car specifically, is equipped with an aftermarket turbo, as pictured, likely making this thing an absolute rocket ship. I guarantee these are absolutely some of the most enjoyable cars to drive in the era, and they reign from an era which produced THE MOST fun cars to drive. I still would put the 22b over this car in every category, though. Still waiting on my opportunity to photograph that legend.

The car your cool uncle traded his IROC Z for when he got that promotion back in 1990… the Porsche 944 Turbo. I know, it was the 80s, everything was under powered, but I’d love to know what these would’ve been like with a flat 6 or a v8. Regardless, Porsche did have a 3.0 I4 developed for the 944S2, which is mind bogglingly large for a 4 cylinder. Leave it to Porsche to make something like that happen. Anyway, this is a 944 turbo with the turbocharged 2.5L I4, capable of 0-60 somewhere around 5.5 to 6 seconds. In a world where Camrys are doing 5 second 0-60s and every new super car has sub 3 seconds, 5.5 seconds doesn’t seem fast, but to me, that’s plenty quick, especially for the 80s. These things are probably shockingly fun to drive and I’ve always wanted to own one.

Back again to May’s #caffeineandcarburetors where I saw the Maserati MC20 for the very first time in person! I wasn’t the biggest fan when it was revealed, and I’m still iffy about the rear end, but it sure is a gorgeous vehicle!
