These talented artists represent nearly 80 different schools from across the state! We are so excited to come together in a few short weeks and start work on a MuSiCaL!

This entire room was so completely filled with LIGHT!

Thank you so much to everyone who auditioned and interviewed over the last month for the 2027 All State show! We saw the most remarkable, dedicated, passionate artists and are so grateful for the time you all put in to preparing for this process. To say we were blown away is truly an understatement. You should all be incredibly proud of the work you’ve done!!

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for the 2027 Illinois High School Theatre Festival All-State production of “Something Rotten”! We were thrilled by the talent, energy, preparation, and enthusiasm that each of you brought to the audition process. The level of talent this year made our decisions incredibly difficult.

If you were not called back, please know that this was an exceptionally competitive audition, and not receiving a callback is not a reflection of your talent or potential. We sincerely appreciate the time and effort you invested in preparing your audition, and we hope to see you continue pursuing future opportunities with All-State and beyond. by @allstateihstf

We saw such extraordinary talent from all over the state over these past several days and are so grateful for the time and passion you all poured into your auditions and interviews - please know that your care did not go unnoticed! A PROCLAMATION FROM THE 2027 ALL STATE TEAM:

ALL STATE CAST/CREW/PIT AUDITIONS/INTERVIEWS EXTENDED TO MAY 25!!!!!

We know this time of year gets incredibly busy with spring productions, finals, AP testing, concerts, graduations, and all the other end-of-year commitments students are balancing.

To help make sure everyone has the chance to participate, we are extending the application deadline to May 25. We want every student to have the opportunity to audition for cast or pit, or interview for tech, for the Illinois High School Theatre Association’s All-State production of Something Rotten!

For students applying for tech: Don’t stress about the portfolio! Use it as a chance to showcase yourself and your interests as best you can. We will learn so much more about who you are, your passion, and your potential through the interview process and our conversations with you. We encourage students of all experience levels to apply!
