I was excited and surprised to find one of my absolute favorite drummers behind the kit at the @blackfootwhitefoot set the other night.

@timmytychilders is one of my absolute favorites, so I always feel like a kid on a playground every time I get to see him play. Cheers to good friends, good people, and good things from the south.

@hinterlandiowa recap up and out. Had as much fun working on this recap as I’ve had in a while in the edit bay.

out in the field at Hinterland there’s an undeniable comparison game to a certain huge cultural event that takes place in Chicago the same weekend; and I love that festival and all my buddies who help throw it, but you can’t help but feel a juxtaposition to the grandiose-too massive to miss-behemoth of an event and the laid back lovely energy that permeates Hinterland.

One stage, camp where you want, sunsets that last two hours. most folks had a card deck and they had as much fun spending time with each other between sets as they did when the music was on.

I tried to channel that and use it as a guiding light when telling stories for it.

Shouts out to my incredible crew of @jacobhalephoto, @edy_recendez and yours truly (and the unstoppable onsite social team of @mylonghairdontcare @cadiechapell and @emma_herrington01). Big thanks to @onpitch @jillhav @aw_hewitt for letting us come play in fantasyland, Iowa for the week.

don’t change hinterland; you’re perfect. taken in St. Charles, Iowa by @allthestuff

Killer crew, killer friends, killer tunes, and chaotic shots. if you’d ever told past me id get to interview Tyler Childers and the band in front of the Chicago cubs cubbies I would would probably tell ya “yeah sounds fun let’s do it”.
