DisabiliBaddies #FeatureFriday & I wanted to re-introduce myself! #DisabiliBaddieFanisee . Hiiii DisabiliBaddies ✨ My name is Fanisee (she/her) and I am a 26 year old, chronically ill, disabled, multi-racial woman of color who also has mood/mental health diagnosis’. I was born/raised in Idaho and Utah, went to undergrad in San Diego and now, live in Las Vegas. . @bfanisee and I am the One-DisabiliBaddie-Band behind this brand. If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for side quests and passion projects, but this feels different. This feels like my purpose. Community work at its foundation; inspiring and uplifting in its nature; constantly growing based on adaptions and accommodations. I do identify with a Disability & as a Baddie 😉 Since I was born, I’ve been a fun, positive, social butterfly - gave that boss, leader, baddie energy as a grew up & I still been that gworrrrrlllll -just need to remind myself sometimes.💋 Since 2012, I have been diagnosed with a physical disability, autoimmune disease called Transverse Myelitis (inflammation in the spine causing paralysis) with it overtime turning into Degenerative Disc Disease, so I am a wheelchair user and ambulatory walking with (2) canes. I’ve always been an avid advocate for social justice, disability rights, and humanity in general, but I always had a hard time accepting myself along with the process. I couldn’t mentally or physically fuse my Disability and my Baddie energy without feeling like worlds collided. It was either or, but over the past couple of years, I’ve been falling back in love with my present self and giving my future self so much to look forward to. I’m amazing; I’m beautiful; I’m bold; I’m assertive; I’m sexy; I’m smart. I’m a DisabiliBaddie and I love to find community. Honoring all of the women and femmes from shackles and suffrage, to the ones who liberated us into the next generation. #DisabiliBaddieFanisee re-introduction (somewhat) brief! 🖤 Hi DisabiliBaddies and Supporters!! My name is Fanisee (she/her) - The face, human, and owner behind the brand! 👀 This is not my first or last intro, but I like to be personable, vulnerable and share me, as a person behind the brand and movement. I have a couple of posts sharing about me and how DisabiliBaddies got started, but essentially the community has kept growing because of each of you. Every follower; every in person event; every share; every amount of support and love has made DisabiliBaddies go such a long way! This isn’t about me, it is about you all!! All the disabled baddies (past, present, potential, and future) - to build community, connect, and showcase our authentic life! My name is Fanisee (she/her) and you can learn a lot more about me through @allthingafanisee or catch me in person! My disability is an autoimmune disease Transverse Myelitis; endometriosis (chronic illness), and struggle with mood/mental health. Life has had its way of teaching so many things, and people have helped me learn to love life. In 2012, I had full paralysis for about a year or two. From 2012-2016 I used my wheelchair (unless I was at PT or home) and from 2016-2023 I (lovingly and with internalized ablesim) forced myself to walk with 2 canes. Strong? I guess! But efficient and happy? Definitely not, yet, completely. After I met a really loving and accepting partner in 2022, I started to rethink what a wheelchair meant for me… and did it change my life, again- but in a whole new way! For the better, as an independent adult who loves to travel and take on life alone! At this time in my life, I’ve never felt more accepting, loving, and respectful my body and my standards for access. Self love is so rewarding and I hope you all can join me in this journey. My door (physically and virtually) is always open. Feel free to ask questions about me, my life/experiences, or DisabiliBaddies. I live for loving life, but that doesn’t always mean it’s easy!
