🦮 Meet the Pet of The Week - GHOUL! 🐾⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Ghoul is the cutest little pocket pup! He is currently a green level at the shelter, which means he’s easy to walk and good for newer volunteers.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Ghoul recently went on a straycation and he was very curious...listening to every noise, watching every motion, and smelling every smell. He was timid the first night, with his tail between his legs and crouching low when walking by an unfamiliar sound or sight. However, the next day he was more confident and his body language was different. He walked into his crate multiple times to lay down for a few mins, started showing interest in multiple toys, started running a bit in the backyard, and was wagging his tail instead of tucking it under himself.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Ghoul has so much potential, and just needs someone patient to go at his pace. It’ll be worth it too! Ghoul showed that he has so much love to give, especially enjoying climbing up on the couch to snuggle and be a velcro dog.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ To meet Ghoul, and all the other dogs & cats available for adoption, head over to CARE STL any day from 1 to 5 PM. 🐈 Meet the Pet of The Week - McConaughey! 🐾⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ McConaughey (also known as Bennie) is such a sweet and talkative man! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ McConaughey was just returned to us due to him being diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Disease and the special food/diet and medications that come with that, but that doesn’t stop this man’s zest for life and affection! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ McConaughey does require some medications every few weeks when he has a flare-up, but according to his last home, it is manageable with his hydrolyzed food, probiotics, and pre- flare-up medication. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ McConaughey would do best as the only cat in a home since he is FIV+.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ McConaughey is a wonderfully handsome boy looking for his next furever home!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ To meet McConaughey, and all the other cats & dogs available for adoption, head over to CARE STL any day from 1 to 5 PM. 🦃JUST IN TIME FOR THANKSGIVING! 🦮 Meet the Pet of The Week - TURQIA AKA TURKEY! 🐾⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ Turquia AKA Turkey, is a brave soul who has endured unimaginable hardships. Found on the streets, emaciated and with wounds on his face, Turquia’s journey to recovery has been far from easy. While his physical wounds have healed, his heart still yearns for healing. ⁣ ⁣ Turquia has recently started working with a CHEW buddy who affectionately calls him Turkey. Together, they are working on improving his leash-walking skills and teaching him to check in with his handler. In just a short period of time, Turquia has shown remarkable progress! ⁣ ⁣ One thing that never fails to bring a smile to Turquia’s face is receiving treats. He’s always happy and grateful for any love and affection he receives. We can’t help but wonder how he would thrive in a quiet home environment where he can truly decompress and be himself.⁣ ⁣ Turquia has the potential to be the ultimate cuddle bug and best friend for someone who shows him understanding and patience. 🚨FROM CARE STL:⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ #Attention: Temporary Closure of CARE STL Clark Avenue City Facility for Animal Housing⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Dear valued community members,⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ We want to inform you that the CARE STL Clark Avenue Facility will be undergoing necessary repairs to ensure the safety and well-being of our beloved animals. As a regulating and inspecting body, the Missouri Department of Agriculture requires us to maintain compliance and active licensing to operate our shelter. Therefore, we must complete the repairs by the end of this year to renew our license.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ To facilitate the repairs, we kindly request your assistance in fostering or adopting our animals starting today. This will allow us to remove all animals from the building (fumes & flooring chemicals exposure), making it available for the contractor to commence repairs on December 18th. We anticipate the repairs to be completed by January 1st, barring unforeseen delays.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ Effective immediately, we have implemented Emergency Shelter Operations Status to prioritize the repair process. During this period, CARE STL will only accept emergency intakes from Animal Control. We regret to inform you that we cannot accept surrendered or healthy found animals from the public until further notice. However, we will continue to assist animals needing emergency medical care, offer resources to help lost animals find their way home, aid in rehoming pets, and provide necessary supplies and services to support pet owners.⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ If you are interested in fostering or adopting an animal, please come to the shelter from 1 pm to 7 pm on Monday-Friday and 10 am to 5 pm on Saturdays & Sundays.
