SIK Pre-Season Player to Watch: Hanover standout Ally Scheele enters her senior season as one of the top liberos in 1A. The 5’8” defensive anchor was a driving force behind Hanover’s dominant 42-1 record and 1A State Championship in 2024, following back-to-back runner-up finishes in 2022 and 2023. Scheele made waves on a national level last fall, finishing top five in the country with 665 digs and eclipsing the 1,000 career dig milestone. She earned KVA Second Team All-State honors as a junior. Hanover has been a title threat in multiple sports, with Scheele also part of three straight basketball state championships. “I’ve been looking forward to this season since our very last game, last season. We have so much talent and experience returning, and even joining our team this year. Our team has one goal. Win State. We’ve been focused and working hard on volleyball since summer has started. Looking forward to returning back to Emporia and competing for another title!” Scheele said. Hanover’s only loss in the 2024 season came to 3A state qualifier Beloit, as they had one of the most dominant seasons in Kansas history under HC Melissa Holle. Look for Hanover to continue their success into the 2025 season. #sportsinkansas
