In 2025, I’ve been rogue on my feed so far, but never fear because it’s all about to change ‼️ I never got to take you thru my year in running 2024 ‼️ Coming off my world record year, not knowing what marathon to do after the @wmmajors, I somewhat impulsively signed up for the @parismarathon. Even though norovirus the week before ultimately ended up derailing my race 🫠 I took this result, my slowest time in years, particularly hard because even if I’d gone in feeling 110p healthy & despite my v solid @nyrr NYC Half time that spring, I knew I didn’t do everything I could have in training to have my best result. I have really awesome @centralparktc teammates who ran Paris too & put it all back into perspective that my 3:00 worst day ever is so many ppl’s absolute dream day out on the course. It led me to realize that it was going to take this poor race result to snap me out of my post-world record hangover & back to enjoying getting better at the sport I love so much. Last summer, I worked harder than ever & also had more fun than ever training with my partner-in-crime @mkrandolph, whose sisterhood & co-goal chasing means legit everything to me 😭❤️‍🔥⚡️ That strategy paid off for us, & just like in our training, we raced the @nycmarathon step4step together (pictured here 🥰), having the time of our lives the whole way. We both said it was the most effortless marathon we’ve ever ran. While we were planning to break 2:50, we never quite were able to step on the gas in the back half of the race. You have to respect the challenging course that is the NYC Marathon, & I was still v pleased with a course PB of 2:55 🙏 The joy I felt deep down in every vein of my body after that race was so pure, & I hope that every runner gets to experience the feeling of having an awesome race in their home city, with their sister in sport (& life), surrounded by all of their friends & fam cheering them on every mile. Ending the year on a big ass high note, baby ✨👑✨So, you may ask, what’s been going on in 2025? What would the end of the year be without the infamous A YEAR IN RUNNING post ‼️I have to say, certain years in running are just extra sweet, & 2023 was one of those years 😌 I broke the @guinnessworldrecords for being the youngest, fastest woman to run all six @wmmajors 🤝⚡️⚡️ I ran a shiny new marathon PB of 2:53:11 while I broke the record & was the ninth American woman at the @tokyomarathonfoundation 🙏⚡️⚡️⚡️ There is nothing more satisfying & gratifying than going after a crazy goal & then actually accomplishing it after years of hard work & ups & downs. It’s a feeling that only you can feel deep inside you, a feeling that no one can ever take away. I basked in the glory of a world record for a while. I’m so grateful that I have an incredible support system of fam, friends who are fam, teammates, coaches, & honestly even dogs around me, near & far, who want to celebrate with me. I even had my parents & my sisters @emaloney & @e.hatch come out to pit crü the race, cheer me on, & then adventure around Japan with me after, which was just so much freaking fun. Like any monumental moment in athletics, I eventually had a comedown period too. I wandered a little bit with the structure of my running schedule, popping in some shorter races this fall & summer & helping pace my teammates & friends during their fall marathon cycles. I had some excellent shorter racing moments & I had some flops too 👻⚡️ I needed that time, but what’s funny is right after Tokyo was over, I always knew what was next for me. With this whole marathon journey, I’ve just always been intrinsically motivated by getting a little faster & smarter each time I toe the line. Nothing changes for me there. Now it’s about seeing how güd I can get, how I can keep tweaking & refining what I’ve learned thus far to come up with an even more eloquent race & result. I’m also so fortunate to be surrounded by so many badass runners all the time, specifically my gurl gang (uak who you are 😘), who pass running milestones & cru$h goal$ with me. I never feel more powerful & strong than when I’m with them. Sub 2:50 coming in ‘24 😈 ⚡️⚡️ Then it’s to the 🌙🌚💫✨⚡️⚡️⚡️THANK U ALL LUV U ALL XO ACS by @ally_spiroff

I would follow my dad into any bar in any alley for the laughs, vibes, & outrageous/fun/insightful/deep conversation. His knowledge about so many different facets of the world & the world of culture inspires me to keep learning & growing at every age. He’s 5ever cooler than me & my favorite DJ, @coachella date, running buddy, & beer drinking companion. I’d drop his Spotify handle right now, because he has the best, most consistently updated playlists in the world (I know I’m biased, but all of my friends who he is now also friends with LOL & already follow him can vouch), but he wouldn’t want me to because he’d rather grow his followers organically (but seriously, if you’re that curious, which you should be, DM me or comment below & I’ll hook you up & change your life 🤣🔥). Mother’s Day always falls on the same week as National Nurses Week. Coincidence? I think not. There’s not a single day of my life that I take this chill, beautiful, incredible, badass woman for granted. I also don’t take for granted that she is my favorite person & we get to spend our days off in Kyoto together sometimes. Every day is Kathleen Spiroff Appreciation Day in my world.
