a month after our grandma passed in 2024, i had this idea for @chrispunsalan to write a book about his experience as a caregiver.

not knowing how we should go about it… he put me in task to not only help him write it, but also be in charge of getting the book on shelves.

we considered self-publishing and also traditional publishing. during the process, we spoke to a bunch of people and got a ton of insight.

chris park, an agent at defiore, reached out and wanted to help us get the book published. shouts to @parikkostan for the assist!

she worked with me for about 4 months to clean the manuscript’s direction and to put together a book proposal.

later this summer, she got us a publishing deal with nelson books, an imprint of harper collins christian. one of the big five in the publishing industry!

the rest is history. i’m proud to announce that chris and i will release our first book in 2027!

we went from cuttin’ music albums, performing on stage, producing films, and now writing literature.

shouts to our editor hanha parham and the rest of the team at nelson. this is one for the books 🤭😜

i’m no aphorist, but a wise man named tony once said, “i want to try everything once.”

i love sharing meals with my wife, trying new foods from different cultures, and indulging in flavors from all over the world.

mark twain said, “…the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”

that’s exactly how @chrispunsalan and our agent @chrisminpark made me feel jumping into this gargantuan task of co-writing my cousin’s first book. but you also gotta jump in and know you can do it, even if you don’t know what you’re doing! that goes with anything. you can always learn along the way. but it helps if you got a great story in your backpack 🤷🏽‍♂️
