A project developed during my stay @applied.photography @dieangewandte in Vienna last year.
 Inspired by the constant overstimulation of everyday audiovisual impressions, Nadine Weber @nad_we embodies in this video portrait the phenomenon of dissociation and isolation as a psychological defence mechanism.
The visual and auditory composition reflects my personal interpretation of this mental state – a form of inner withdrawal in which perception and self-awareness detach from external reality. Space and time lose their conventional meaning, and auditory impressions are replaced by a muted numbness.
This portrait explores isolation as a protective response of the psyche, making visible a mental condition that often remains deeply personal, subjective, and unseen.
