LOCAL DISCO is built on a simple belief: dance is a fundamental human act, and every community deserves a space to connect.

We've built our collective around five core values — each represented by a symbol you'll see across our dance floors, posters, and community spaces:

🏠 The Barn: This Could Only Exist Here. Celebrating the venues, partners, and people of the Annapolis Valley.

💿 The Record: Honour the Roots. Paying homage to the Black, Latinx, and queer communities who created dance culture.

🕺🏽 The Floor: The Floor is for Everyone. Radical inclusion, active safety, and zero pretension.

🌊 The Tide: Third Places Matter. Creating intentional spaces outside of work and home to gather and belong.

✨ The Glimmer: Grow Together. We rise when the room rises. No gatekeeping, just people building something together.

Which value resonates most with you? 👇

LOCAL DISCO is a community dance collective dedicated to creating space for people to move, connect, and belong. We believe that every community deserves a floor, and that 'third places' [spaces outside of work and home where we can gather and just exist] matter. 🪩

We are bringing feel-good dance music to unexpected venues across the Annapolis Valley, starting with our monthly Summer series, Sunday Afters, @luckettvineyards on June 28th.

We set the stage, but you make the space. This is a collective-first project with no gatekeeping and no pretension. Just warm grooves, open-air dance floors, and a place where you belong.

Head to the link in our bio to read our Code of Conduct, sign up for SMS updates, or apply to join us as a volunteer, DJ, or artist. Let’s build this floor together. ✨ by @alocaldisco
