When Alodia Gosiengfiao started cosplaying in the early 2000s, becoming a trailblazer was the furthest thing from her mind. Yet here she is now, proving that one’s passion toward gaming and geek culture can take you places too.

And despite everything she’s achieved, Alodia remains driven to create — not for herself, but for those who will follow in her footsteps.

Read more about Alodia’s journey and what’s next in The GAME’s July 2026 Digital Issue.

Anyone who’s been on the internet in the last decade or so knows that the name #AlodiaGosiengfiao is synonymous with the title of the Philippines’ "Queen of Cosplay.” With all the extravagant looks that she's donned, the gamer, cosplayer, and businesswoman is now ready to put on her most important "costume" yet: a wedding gown.

When I was starting out, I still remember to this day the way people looked at me with confusion and judgement because of my love for cosplay and games. I was usually the odd person out of most groups as I never really forced myself to be someone I wasn't. As years went by, I found like-minded people who understood and accepted me for who I am and have helped me get to where I am today.

For this reason and more, I can't help but feel so thankful and blessed to find people outside of our world who decided to give me and what we we do a spotlight through this cover. This is definitely one of the most creative shoots I've ever done in my career and I loved how everything came together. They say choosing to be different has its price, I paid mine a long time ago and if you're someone who is going through what I went through right now, here's what I have to say to you. Life begins the moment you decide to be yourself. You are what you choose to be. 🤍
