Designer Alon Avital explores the tension between fantasy and reality through a silhouette that reads like modern armor. Drawing from the refined couture of early 20th-century designer Clara Schulz and the tragicomic spirit of Cervantes’ Don Quixote, the piece transforms the corset into a protective structure, its sharp cuts and panelled construction echoing 17th-century armor. The result is a uniform for the dreamer: a garment that shields while quietly rebelling against the harshness of the world. Presented through a visual campaign combining the physical garment with AI-enhanced photography, the project reflects fashion’s ongoing dialogue between history, imagination, and resistance.

Alon Avital’s collection, created within the Alternative Relations course, uses free draping and experimental construction to explore the influence of technical process on design. The oversized, raw silhouettes are inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, embodying the tension between beauty and monstrosity, chaos and structure. These striking forms challenge conventional elegance, demonstrating how fashion can emerge from the unconventional and the experimental.

אילנה לובשת שמלה שהיא יצירת אמנות של המעצב המוכשר אלון אביטל‪@alon_avital‬al‬al‬‬al‬
השמלה עוצבה מתוך מחשבה על המקום שבו שני קצוות נפגשים — הפצע והגעגוע, האובדן והתקווה. היא נולדה בעקבות המלחמה, אך מדברת על אהבה — על כוח הקשר האנושי לשרוד גם את הזוועות.

העיצוב משלב בין טרנץ׳, בגד בעל נוכחות צבאית, לבין מחוך — סמל אינטימי של נשיות, רוך ושליטה בגוף ובלב. שני העולמות מתמזגים יחד ליצירה אחת שמגלמת את המתח שבין כוח לשבריריות.

אם תשאלו אותי , השמלה הזו קיבלה חיים כשאילנה המדהימה לבשה אותה , כאילו נתפרה במיוחד בשבילה. אישה חזקה, נשית, עוצמתית ומיוחדת שעברה תופת ולמרות זאת נלחמת על חייה ועל חיי החטופים שנשארו מאחור ולא תנוח עד שכולם יחזרו. אישה השראה ולנו היתה זכות גדולה.
