How I moved to Europe: not by plane, but by ship. 🚢🐾
⠀
I was too big to fly in the airplane cabin, so in August 2025, my humans and I sailed from New York to Southampton on Queen Mary 2. I stayed in the ship’s kennels, and my humans came up and spent hours with me every day.
⠀
Seven nights, two very kind kennel masters, and an official certificate to prove I did it.

The humans visited the Hollandsche Manege, the oldest riding school in the Netherlands. It’s a museum where the horses are very much alive. 🐴
⠀
The riding school dates from 1882, but its history goes back to 1744, when the first Hollandsche Manege opened on the Leidsegracht. Today you can walk past the stables, look out over the arena, and meet the horses.
⠀
I’m told some of them were even bigger than me. 🐾

Tip: from Oct 29 to Nov 1, the Dutch Equine Art Fair fills the historic Dutch Stable with paintings, photography and sculptures, all with the horse at the center. You can even pair it with a High Tea. 🎨🐴

We let go of almost everything we owned in the US. The one thing we kept? Our favorite travel companion. 🐾

🇬🇧 6 months in the UK
🇫🇷 1 month in France
🇧🇪 A few days in Belgium
🇳🇱 And now, 7 months in the Netherlands

She's 12.5 and still up for every adventure, as long as there's a cozy spot to nap at the end of it.

HEMA has a tompouce lounge now, and the humans went without me. They didn’t bring me a treat, but a souvenir is always nice 🩷

Tompouce is a pink Dutch pastry that HEMA has sold since 1932, about 10 million every year. On King’s Day the icing turns orange 🧡
⠀
Now there’s a whole lounge, with tompouce dog toys, shower foam and one product we’ll let you discover yourself 👀
⠀
They spotted some of my closest friends, Miffy 🐰 and Takkie 🐾

Would you bathe with tompouce shower foam? 👇

Museum Monday 🏛️
⠀
The humans went to the Yayoi Kusama retrospective at the Stedelijk: more than seven decades of her work, from paintings and pumpkins to mirror balls and a room you walk right into.
⠀
The show opened in September and has become a tribute to her since her death. It runs until January 17, 2027.
⠀
Tip: even with a Museumkaart, there’s a surcharge for the Kusama exhibition, and tickets come with an entry time. VriendenLoterij VIP-Kaart holders get free entrance for themselves and one guest (must book online).

Max won the Mexico City Grand Prix, his third win of the season! 🇳🇱🏁
⠀
I celebrated with a few laps in my own race car.
⠀
And congratulations to Kimi Antonelli, who at 20 is now the youngest world champion in F1 history. 🏆

Halloween is over, so it’s officially Christmas time. 🎄🐾
⠀
It’s my first holiday season in the Netherlands, and here Sinterklaas comes before Santa. 🎁

Happy Halloween! 🎃🦁

This year I went as a lion, in honor of my new country. The lion is on the Dutch coat of arms, and you see orange lions everywhere when the Netherlands plays.

The humans took me to a Halloween party at Woof & Me, a dog café in Amsterdam. I got a dog cupcake, and they got coffee with paw prints. 🐾

Coffee at a laundromat. 🧺☕
⠀
Laundry Boy on Hazenstraat is a laundrette, dry cleaner and coffee bar in one. The humans didn’t do laundry, but they did try the Halloween special (iced pumpkin spice) and a matcha. I supervised from the sling.
⠀
The pumpkin spice is only around until November 2, so go soon. 🎃
⠀
Would you grab a coffee while your laundry spins? 👇

The Dutch garden centers start Christmas early, and I’m here for it. 🎄
⠀
I toured the kerstshow at De Bosrand: miniature snowy villages, a forest of glittering trees, a very still fox, and one Santa suit that fit me perfectly.

The humans had an oliebol. I was not offered one. 🎅🐾
⠀
Kerstshows are a big Dutch tradition. Garden centers turn into Christmas wonderlands every autumn, and this one welcomed me. Is this a thing where you live? 👇

Not all angels make the runway. Some of us have to inspect spooky cake. 👼🎃 ⠀

Today’s Dutch word: griezelig 👻 It means “creepy,” and Albert Heijn took it seriously. ⠀

This is their Halloween griezelige slijm pumpkin spice taart: orange frosting, eyeballs on top, and a layer of green slime hiding inside.

It’s chocolate, so I was only allowed to look. The humans said it was delicious. I’ll have to take their word for it. 🐾 ⠀

What’s the weirdest Halloween treat you’ve seen in a supermarket? 👇

Throwback to August, when I saw the Brussels Flower Carpet from the Town Hall balcony. 🌸🐾 We took the train from Amsterdam, about 3.5 hours door to door, and dogs are welcome on board. 🚆🐾
⠀
This year’s design, “Neo Hokusai,” reimagined Hokusai’s Great Wave with more than 750,000 dahlias, celebrating 160 years of friendship between Japan and Belgium. There was even a second, hops-themed carpet at the Bourse. 🇯🇵🇧🇪
⠀
Before heading to the Grand-Place, we took a coffee break at our hotel @thestandardbrussels. I was very interested in the coffee. ☕️

The Flower Carpet happens every two years, so the next one is August 2028. 🗓️
⠀
Verdict: Peanut Approved 🐾
