Good news for our community in Scotland today with the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) announcement that they have accepted deuruxolitinib (Leqselvi) for use within NHSScotland.

Information provided by Alopecia UK was considered as part of the assessment process and we will continue our work to advocate for new treatments to be made available via the NHS, and ensure we have up to date information on our website to help those with alopecia make informed choices about any treatment they might try.

We're only one week into October so there is still plenty of time to get involved in 100k for AUK!

Cover 100km (or 62 miles) in October, in whatever way works for you, and raise funds for Alopecia UK as you do it.

In return, we will send you a charity t-shirt and a choice of tube scarf. Not to mention all the warm fuzzy feelings you will get from helping out a small charity 💙🩵

A research team from the University of Nottingham are conducting a survey on people who have an autoimmune disease and have tried a ketogenic, carnivore or other very-low carb diet.

If this applies to you, and you can support this research, the survey takes just 10 minutes to complete. Find out more here by heading to the 'Participate in Research' link in our bio. by @alopeciauk

Great to have our CEO Sue representing Alopecia UK in Vienna this week, connecting with other patient organisations from across the global alopecia areata community.

There may be differences in how care is provided globally, but many of the challenges are remarkably similar. From long waiting times and difficulties in getting referrals to specialists to inequality in care within regions of each country.

Different systems. Same challenges. A shared ambition for better care 💙
