A dog inheriting a house is absurd enough. Watching the humans around him descend into desperate attempts to take it away from him is considerably darker. Federico Borgia’s Prince, which has its World Premiere at BFI LFF takes this bizarre idea and turns it into an unexpectedly sharp examination of grief, greed, and the human impulse to possess.

Trailer Premiere!

Watch the official trailer for PRINCE, the darkly humorous solo-debut feature by Uruguayan filmmaker Federico Borgia, ahead of its World Premiere next week at the 70th BFI London Film Festival.

Set against the fading seaside luxury of Punta del Este, PRINCE follows Jaime, a former lover turned live-in butler whose peculiar domestic life is upended when his wealthy employer dies and leaves her entire estate to her prize-winning Afghan Hound—with Jaime appointed as the dog’s guardian.

Starring Roberto Suárez, Maitina De Marco, and Esteban Bigliardi, PRINCE is a sharp and absurdist exploration of inheritance, class, family, and existential confusion.
