FEB 12 - A L P H A B E T presents: DARGZ with MC Nory (NYC) + Support DARGZ operates in the fertile middle ground between gritty East Coast tradition and the elastic fluidity of modern alt-jazz. Cut from the same cloth as foundational hip-hop architects, his sound bridges classic ‘90s boom-bap crunch with the vibrant, improvisational warmth of London’s contemporary jazz movement. Crisp, MPC-style breaks underpin lush horns, soulful keys and effortless flows - creating a signature aesthetic that feels both nostalgically familiar and forward-leaning.  This direction takes centre stage on his latest single ‘SIREN’ - a high-energy Brooklyn collaboration featuring rapper Nory - which serves as the first entry from his forthcoming full-length, NEW NEW YORK YORK. @noryaronfeld will feature live and in person with @dargzmusic for this show. GIG ALERT! Sunday November 22nd • A L P H A B E T Ticket link in bio “With musical ideas spanning mariachi and motorik beats, and lyrics with Kneecap-grade rage, this brilliant collective evolve tradition with stinging, joyful songs” Jude Rogers, The Guardian Hive Mind are thrilled to bring you the debut Brighton show of Galway-based six-piece Trá Pháidín. The group released their stunning second album, Cloch ‘s Claí (‘Stone & Wall’), on World of Echo early in October to universal acclaim. Built around the historical significance embedded in dry-stone walls, the record offers a satirical view of Éire’s relationship with her native tongue and the Gaeltacht; ten tracks, each a stone in a metaphorical wall, the wall itself a vessel for tokenism, housing, gentry politics and ribbon development, scattered across the landscape and psyche of na Gaeltachtaí. The result is music of ambitious breadth spiked with an absurdist sense of humour: jazz, folk, krautrock, and hushed existentialism from the west of Ireland are all in the mix. “Moving through celestial abstraction, pulsating kosmische grooves and moments of eerie dissociation, their music transforms Connemara into a hallucinatory parallel version of itself” – The Quietus “A brilliantly diverse and highly original record incorporating elements of Irish traditional music, earthy psych, ambient, kraut, free jazz, post rock, field recording and just about anything else you care to mention.” – Klof “An enigmatic but unstoppable force in independent Irish music” – Hot Press This is your opportunity to see the group perform their dizzying live show – a web connecting absurd dadaist theatre, post-rock precision, rolling jazz-inspired instrumental passages powered by two awesome drummers and a brass section, and kaleidoscopic Irish folk. Nothing I can say will really prepare you... + support from: Eloise Duffy: Eloise (Lew) Duffy’s has been working in experimental and improvised music under the (excellent) name, Shit Creek, for close to a decade. Originally from West Yorkshire but now based in Brighton, their music covers a vast range of experimental sound, from soothing violin drone, through high velocity max by @alphabetbrighton
