🟢 BROTHER SPOTLIGHT 🟢

Meet Marcelo Biggs, who pledged Alpha Delt in Fall 2025 and is heading into his fourth year at UBC, majoring in Psychology. Born in San Diego and raised in Seattle, Marcelo spent his first two years at Queen’s University, where he played collegiate soccer, before transferring to UBC. Outside of school, he’s a regular at Rec North, loves to travel and has quickly become a crowd favourite behind the decks at Alpha Delt parties. This summer, he travelled through Europe, including a stop in Barcelona to visit the FC Barcelona Museum.

Here’s what Marcelo had to say about joining Alpha Delt:

“Transferring to UBC and not knowing anybody meant that Alpha Delt was the first group of guys I interacted with here. I’m lucky to have found this place and to have been instantly accepted and given the opportunity to create unique friendships. I’m excited to spend the rest of my time here at UBC with these brothers.”

Feel free to reach out to Marcelo at @marcelobiggs with any questions about Alpha Delt, UBC or anything else. taken in Alpha Delta Phi - BC Chapter by @alphadeltubc

Earlier this month, brothers from Alpha Delta Phi’s British Columbia Chapter had the honour of celebrating our centennial while hosting the fraternity’s 194th Annual Convention here in Vancouver.

With 2026 marking 100 years of the BC Chapter, this year’s Convention carried special significance. As the first Greek society at UBC to reach this historic milestone, a century of uninterrupted brotherhood reflects the standards, traditions and legacy established by the generations who came before us.

We’re proud to share that our chapter was recognized with two awards this year:

• CHAPTER GROWTH AWARD
Recognizing excellence in recruiting members who uphold our values and strengthen the brotherhood.

• ONDERDONK AWARD
Recognizing excellence in alumni engagement, operations, communications, fundraising and financial management.

A sincere thank you to @adphi1832 for an exceptional Convention, and to our alumni, past executive leadership and generations of brothers whose stewardship continues to shape our chapter today.

🟢 BROTHER SPOTLIGHT 🟢

Meet Jimmy Xie, who pledged Alpha Delt in Spring 2026. Jimmy is currently studying Forestry at UBC and is heading into his second year. He’s from White Rock but grew up in Prince Edward Island and attended Semiahmoo Secondary School. At Semiahmoo, Jimmy played hockey, badminton and ultimate.

Since joining Alpha Delt, Jimmy has quickly become one of the boys everyone is happy to see walk through the door. A bit of a party animal, Jimmy has made the most of his first year at UBC and has already built the kind of memories most people hope to leave university with.

Outside of school and the fraternity, Jimmy enjoys snowboarding, MMA and still getting back on the ice to play hockey.

Here’s what Jimmy had to say about his time at Alpha Delt so far:

“Coming into UBC, I wanted first year to be something I’d actually remember, not just classes, exams and walking around a massive campus not knowing anyone. Alpha Delt gave me the boys, the nights out, the stories and the kind of memories you can’t really plan for. I’m fired up for everything ahead with the chapter.”

Jimmy is happy to answer any questions about Alpha Delt, UBC, Forestry or first year in general. Feel free to reach out to him at @jimmyx_32 by @alphadeltubc

🟢 BROTHER SPOTLIGHT 🟢

Meet Noah Melo, who pledged Alpha Delt in Fall 2025. Noah is a first-year student in the Faculty of Science and hopes to major in Microbiology. He’s from Victoria, where he attended St. Michaels University School. During high school, he was involved in senior volleyball, rowing, and Reach for the Top, where he competed at the provincial level.

At Alpha Delt, Noah proudly serves as our Exchange Social Chair, a role that fits him well because he loves meeting new people and bringing great energy to the brotherhood. Outside of school and the fraternity, Noah enjoys playing volleyball and is also really into baseball.

Here’s what Noah had to say about his time at Alpha Delt so far:

“Joining Alpha Delt at the start of university was easily one of the best choices I’ve made. The boys have had my back from day one, and it already feels like home. I’m proud to be Exchange Social because being social and bringing people together is something I’ve always enjoyed, and it’s been great helping put on fun sorority events.”

Noah is happy to answer any questions about Alpha Delt, UBC, or first year in general. Feel free to reach out to him at @noahsmelo by @alphadeltubc
