A prayer for forward expectations:

Lord help me to look ahead.
Often my nostalgia feels like a time capsule I retreat to.
A loop of moments that feel rare, people I've treasured, and my place of comfort.
The problem is, I do not believe nor know that my present and future endeavors aren't a waste.
The problem is I don't know that my future smiles are the byproduct of the very grace you have covered my past with.
My prayer is that the past remains a reminder of Your love for me and that Your Love is my resting place.
Help my expectations to be bold and humble and assured.
Help me to deny the pride of control, timing, and low esteem.
Allow me to escape the rose tinted narrative.
Allow me to live freely in the present.
Allow me to outwit the anxiety of the future.
Allow love to rush through me and wash away this mountain of 2024/2025.
By Your sacrifice Christ.
