Advice for going Greek from MC ‘25 📝🌸#aphi #sdsu #gogreek✨Recruitment can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re balancing something as demanding as a college sport. As a student-athlete, I was nervous about starting recruitment, school, and cheer all at once. My biggest piece of advice is to take everything one day—and one moment—at a time, because even your busiest days often become the memories you’ll cherish most. I truly can’t imagine my college experience without the support of my sisters!✨Coming from a community where joining a sorority isn’t something people typically do, recruitment pushed me far outside my comfort zone. No one in my family had ever experienced Greek life, so I had to trust myself to embrace a completely new path. Family has always been the most important part of my life, and finding a sisterhood gave me a home away from home. My advice is to understand everyone is coming from different backgrounds, so be focused on your own experience!✨My biggest piece of advice is that despite hearing many different opinions about the rush process, it’s important to tune those out and trust your own instincts. After every chapter, I recorded a voice memo the second I walked out to remember exactly how I felt. Always remind yourself that the right chapter isn’t the one you think you should love, but the one that makes you feel like you belong in the sisterhood.✨Going through recruitment has given me the big sisters I always wished I had. As an out of state student, I can confidently say that finding a home in Greek life is one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll have in college. Every connection throughout this process has the potential to become the kind of friendship to be there for your toughest moments and biggest wins. My best advice is to seriously enjoy every moment and use this as an opportunity to build relationships with girls that make you feel the most confident in your authentic self. I wish I could be in your shoes all over again!!✨My biggest piece of advice is to be confident! Rushing as a sophomore was nerve-racking. I got scouted when I was 16 and now get to express my creative direction while traveling the world.
