“Hi everyone! My name is Hannah, and I am so excited to help establish Alpha Phi at the University of Rhode Island!

Being in Alpha Phi has been one of the most meaningful experiences, and I am so grateful for the friendships and opportunities it has given me. Once you join Alpha Phi, you have a lifelong community of women who will constantly support, encourage, and celebrate you.

Alpha Phi has contributed to some of my favorite college memories, from Big/Little Reveal to late night philanthropy events and everything in between. The little moments along with the biggest memories combine to make this experience personalized and unique. It has given me a place where I feel supported, a community that pushes me to grow, and friendships that I know will last a lifetime.

I can’t wait to help bring Alpha Phi to Rhode Island this fall and watch others experience the same sisterhood that has meant so much to me! For today’s #WHYALPHAPHIWEDNESDAY we’re so excited to introduce you to Marissa! 💫

“Hi!! I’m Marissa, and I am a Junior Public Health major here at URI!

I joined Alpha Phi my freshman year at the University of New Hampshire, and I can’t imagine my college experience without it. I met some of my best friends through recruitment, lived in the Alpha Phi house, and found a community that made college feel a lot more like home. Especially being away from home for the first time, having a group of girls to study with, get ice cream with, go to formal with, or just hang out with made such a difference.

When I decided to transfer back home to URI this past year, leaving Alpha Phi was one of the hardest parts. So when I found out Alpha Phi was coming to URI, it was the absolute best news. I knew I wanted to be part of bringing the experience that meant so much to me to a new group of women here. One of my favorite parts of Alpha Phi has always been being part of something bigger than myself, especially through our philanthropy supporting women’s heart health.

I’m so excited to be a founding member of URI’s Alpha Phi and to help create the kind of sisterhood that made my own college experience so special. I can’t wait to meet all of the women who will become part of this special chapter.” ❤️
