My thoughts on the Cornell "7".

I am beyond disgusted of all the information that has come out this past week. Not only of what happened, but the way one of the biggest institutions in this country handled it.

No woman-or person- should ever experience, or be shamed and silenced for this. Cornell as an institution has failed Jane Doe in CHOOSING to allow her alleged perpetrators to not face consequences for their inhumane actions.

I talk more about my perspective of the consequences deemed appropriate on my substack @alphiacatherine.

My thoughts go out to Jane Doe and all victims of SA. This is never okay.

"The First Bite" by Alphia Catherine

This piece was written in late 2024, and punlished in June 2025 by @sonderliterary

This piece was truly something I was proud of. Before it's publication, it was rejected and edited several times. Though this piece no longer reflects my writing experience nearly 2 years later, it was one of my first pieces I was able to share.

It discusses temptation, human desire, and consequences, using the biblical story of Eve and the forbidden fruit as the central metaphor.

I want to share all my published work before I start posting more recent work. 🤍

You can never take the Monet out of me.

The real crime is that I haven't seen Bridge Over a Pond of Lillies yet.

The first picture I painted/drew in first grade (2026-2017), and the second is from my most recent trip to Paris!

I've always been a fan of Monet's artwork. The use of impressionalism to capture a serene environment truly speaks to me. Being able to see his work in real life for the first time was truly a full circle moment.
