April carried a different tune than usual. I was worried about posting because it would just be photos of a rapidly decaying Lily, but there's beauty in that.

Beauty in the way she brought people out of their shells. Beauty in the way she would enter literally any store in Gastown and demand pats and treats; people listened.

Beauty in that people I didn't even recognise knew her name and would cross the street to say hi, to catch up like they were old friends. Your hand would be knuckles deep in her neck fur before either of us knew. Sorry, what was your name again?

Together for nearly 15 years, spanning provinces, cities, houses, couches. She was my number one lookout when we were homeless (just a few weeks) and my number one priority when we weren't (window view please). She was the best behaved passenger on the C-Train, almost every time.

She kept my feet warm under my desk at work, she kept my eyes dry too, when I needed to let it out while no one was looking (spoiler alert: it was just an excuse for a good lick). She kept my lap warm on cross-province trips, this way or that, it didn't matter as long as you kept a hand on her. Window all the way down.

She climbed many a mountain, swam gorgeous lakes, and trees- did you know that girl could climb trees? She didn't care much for my antics and you could always tell by her disapproving side eye glances. As long as other people were involved though, she'd happily tag along to reap the rewards from those misadventures.

She hated camping. She loathed the jackets and little booties I'd stuff her into but hated wet paws even more. We had a silent agreement. Every time I bought a new, soft warm blanket to replace the one she stole, she was quietly adding a new soft, warm blanket to her personal collection. We had a lot of blankets.

She carried nearly fifteen years of sunshine and tears through to April 2026, then May brought her the flowers she so righteously deserved. There is beauty in that.

There was beauty in the way she drew you in with her eyes and changed the shape of your heart. She changed lives, saved lives, lived lives. There is beauty in that.

March was eventful. The world is on fire and it's taking everyone with it, one way or another. Grab a buddy and start swingin'

So many beautiful faces in so many places (none of which were wrong)o)).

Had a lovely weekend with people I adore, including a punk family gathering, and a kappa family gathering. Very in love with those who decide to keep me around. My dad also unironically got me this sick hoody that I'm never taking off by @alrixx

Continuation of the last five months. Gojira, Phantogram, Deftones, Viagra Boys, Snotty Nose Rez Kids- I can't even list them all

Later in December, Lily had a seizure and we thought for sure she'd be taking the final dirt nap for Christmas. She thankfully pulled out of it and aside from some wobbles, she's back to bouncing around like a crazy person. We had a going away party for her though, just in case.

Brenda and Jordon came into town for a visit, which was amazing because I hadn't seen them since their wedding in 2019.

More family photos, hangs with Dobrinsky and Tessa, an unexpected run in with Jeremy, a high school reunion with my east van hood girlies (all grown up), and last but not least, the enormous punk community that, without them, I wouldn't have gotten through some of the things the last few years has thrown at me. I am thankful so often for the love and support I have received from everyone, I'll never be able to express how appreciative I am. by @alrixx

In no particular order. I got to see Nine Inch Nails again, Korn, Pup, Pixel Grip, Teenage Bottle Rocket and Aanthems to name a few. I went on cute little dates with one of the best, Kayla! The Labubus made an appearance, Dad and I went to celebrate Uncle Tony's 80th birthday. A wild Hamish, Theo, Carmen and Sarah appeared, they used surprise, it was super effective. Jonny and Bhawan and Calli each came into town for a visit! Joe spent literal days making this terribly inaccurate AI image of us. I did neat stuff for my birthday and got pretty flowers.I filled my heart and then some. Despite how tumultuous this time has been, I was able to remind myself of all the beautiful things around me and find great solace within that. by @alrixx

Great night surrounded by wonderful humans full of love, who always manage to pick me up when I wipe out. This wraps up the most show intensive month I've had in years, sending the sons off into the ether.
