I did the thing!! Thank goodness I got queer Neurospiced legend @joshthomas87 as a sitter. Imagine if I got Dave Hughes and had to draw a Hitler moustache on the final work!? #blessed

Also, this experience wouldn’t have been the same without local legend @abdul_abdullah. Creativity and empathy goes a long way on reality television. You made everyone feel so safe and welcome. Thank you !!

Thank you to my best friend @arvithisart who has loved and supported me through this whole journey and lugged ALL my shit around the whole day 😂 Even though they cut all of our scenes together, you are the hottest extra I know and I could not have done it without you.

Huge shout out to all the amazing artists I got to meet on my episode, please go check them out!!

Thank you @lukewmcgregor @misstap @robertwellingtonofficial @breepickering for bringing this show to Australia!!

Well that was satisfying

Void
Mixed media on canvas
67x 92cm

From a distance, the central form appears as a singular black void on a white background—solid, absolute, and uncomplicated. On closer inspection, it is heavily textured, layered, and unpredictable.

Void serves as a warning against the seductive simplicity of black and white thinking, reminding us that answers come at the cost of understanding.

Shoreline, 2013. Mixed media

YES 2013. Do you prefer your art/ music you made as a child or as an adult?

I would KILL to get this style of art back that I recall creating so effortlessly.

A common experience I’ve observed within artistic communities is how fruitful art can be when you don’t give a flying fuck about anyone else’s definition of good but your own.

Learning is important , but unlearning is crucial.

UNLEARN EVERYTHING

Thank you by @alt3nding

Running late
617 x 442mm
Pastel on paper

Now on display from from the 13th - 18th of August at @studio551_newtown as a part of the Lost & Found exhibition.

About Running Late:

Most mornings, I’m not entirely sure if I’ve woken up at all. The scenes, interactions, and feelings from my last dreams and nightmares hang around so vividly that the day feels like an extension of it. When you can’t tell where the dream stops and the day begins, every moment feels doubled, complicating the simplest parts of daily life. Shrouded in a hazy reality, this subjects’ weighted legs keep them anchored in a dream.
