April 23, 2026: Alte, Portugal

Day 1: Welcome/ Mehndi party

After a year of planning, the day finally arrived…

Our first guests arrived at 4pm on the dot, as we were finishing setting up our food and drink station.

We wanted a home away from home feel…. as this was the first time many of our families & friends were meeting for the first time.

I kept my mehndi simple, and really loved the final look.

All the ladies got their mehndi done, many of them for the first time.

When I first saw this villa online, I knew it was perfect for the kind of vibe I wanted for our welcome party…the surroundings were so lush and green…a perfect combination of both mine and Ian’s childhoods on farms.

As soon as my 2 Puji’s walked in…the tears found their way down my face.
I think this is when it really hit me…not only am I getting married to a man I am so proud to call my husband, but all of our loved ones have travelled from so far to celebrate us…
it’s hard to really articulate that feeling,
but I know I’ll never forget it💓

When Nadia asked us about our photo style…we simply said..candids; we wanted to be able to look through the photos 10, 30 years from now and not only see the expressions on our guests, but feel them, like we are right back there. She executed🔥

Traditions.
Something old.
Something New.
Something Borrowed.
Something Blue.

My mother-in-law and sister-in-laws surprised me with not only the most thoughtful gifts, but it also allowed us to share a few private moments together. …yes, there were more tears.🥹

Honestly I have way too many incredible memories to share in such a short reel. I could make this 1000 times with different clips and I still wouldn’t get through them all.
