Can’t believe it’s already been a year since I moved to this city. I knew starting from the beginning would be tough, but I didn’t know how great it’d be. I’m grateful for everything I’ve learned about myself on this journey, and for all the new friends I’ve gained along the way. My decision to move here was very instinctive, and I had different ideas in mind. Now I see myself on a much different path than the one I’d planned. I’m glad things turned out this way. No regrets. Again, another random post from a random city Altay went to. As random as it gets, it truly fascinated me. I’m not only talking about the constant good weather, air quality, blue skies, or surprisingly excellent sushi. I want to highlight the awesome friends and the family I gained, the local culture I got to be a part of, the unique contribution to my worldview, all the cats I got to pet, and having been able to swim and tan in December. I guess warm weather really does give you warm people. Mexico and Turkey has more similarities than I thought. I felt suspiciously too comfortable and was even ready to admit that Mexican food was better than Turkish food.
