🎧 TRACK OF THE DAY 🎧

Electron + Skindred’s Benji Webbe 🔥

‘Taken’ is all about those days when everything weighs too heavily, you’re angry at the world and the pressure finally reaches boiling point.

“This is just us having fun and raising our middle finger to the world and all its bullshit.”

The track features on Electron’s new album ‘Is This Worth Living For?’, out October 2.

⭐ ALBUM REVIEW ⭐

“Bloodletting is one hell of an album. It’s emotional and yet brutal.”

RØRY had plenty to live up to after ‘Restoration’ – and @lbirt1993 says she doesn’t disappoint.

From the ferocious ‘DEGRADATION’ and ‘Mortal’ to the beauty of ‘Hometown’ and ‘STRANGE’, it’s an album full of contrasts.

But it’s ‘Swallow’ that hits hardest, with its lyrics around grief making it one of Liz’s favourite songs of the year – and leaving her in tears.

🎧 TRACK OF THE DAY 🎧

A new era begins for LEAP with ‘Bloodlines’. 🔥

It’s the band’s first new music since debut album ‘Entropy’ and their first release through new home Epitaph Records.

Vocalist Jacky says the track captures some of the madness of the past year while exploring the “cosmic pull” that keeps bringing you back to someone, no matter how toxic.

And there’s plenty more on the way…

“This single feels like the start of something new.”

🎤 INTERVIEW 🎤

“If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.”

Gallus aren’t ignoring the mess around them on new album ‘Life Is Bliss’.

We caught up with the Glasgow band to talk anxiety, urban decay and their changing home city, the symbolism of the Finnieston tree, working again with Blair Crichton and their biggest hometown headline show yet.

And when we asked which song they wished they’d written?

‘Seven Nation Army’.

Why? “I’d be loaded.” 😂

🎧 TRACK OF THE DAY 🎧

Black Coast have a brilliant single in ‘Spirals’.

The track sees vocalist Charlie Hewitt channel his experiences with severe overthinking into music, capturing the conflicting conversations that can happen inside his head.

“It’s the conversations I’m having with myself from both sides. The good, bad and the things that don’t make any sense at all.”

Charlie hopes that if listeners experience something similar, ‘Spirals’ can help them “forget for a few minutes”.

🎧 TRACK OF THE DAY 🎧

Save Us sat on ‘Cry’ for almost two years – and thankfully they never let it go.

The fab single was one of the first tracks where the band really embraced a more pop-driven sound and now features on forthcoming album ‘Death to Something’, out October 16 through Solid State Records.

“There’s something special about this one – it stuck with us the whole time and we never let it go.”

⭐ ALBUM REVIEW ⭐

Corella’s ‘A Beautiful Way to Lose’ might not sit in @lbirt1993’s usual musical territory – but there’s plenty here that won her over.

‘What’s the Use’ and ‘Lost a Friend’ emerge as particular highlights, while strong vocals, slick guitars, cool synths, understated basslines and some lovely drums run throughout the record.

If indie punk is your thing, this is one you’ll want to hear.
