L’estate che non c’è begins from a familiar image of the South of Italy shaped by slowness and pleasure.
In Favignana, through photo and video practices, the project moves beyond that fantasy to look at daily life, labor, memory, and the quiet ways a place is held together.
It follows the people, gestures, and rhythms that persist beneath the tourist surface, and reflects on what remains when an island is made for the outside world.
Through images, sounds, traces, and voices, the work becomes a small archive of presence, resilience, and time.
