how much better
can we say we love you
than to braid your soft coils

how we learned to sway together
to the thumping bachata rhythm
there are mothers smiling
sisters drawing
brothers dragging their fingers along soft denim cloth

to share and know

Its summertimee and we out here sharing skills!! Pu to our skillshare happening on August 9th in prospect park! A skill share is a place for people to come together and share any kind of skills they have, and learn any kind of new ones people have to offer! Lets combat that individualist capitalist mindset and come together for a larger collective purpose, all while moving knowledge and resources across communities in the park. We will also be selling donated clothes, a sustainable practice that helps us reduce our waste. Let’s practice collective care and education, all while fundraising for migrants in NYC💗Come volunteer to help run the event, share a skill, or just to be in community with cool people!

Altered Collective co-founder Julie Bazile will be an honored panelist discussing their journey to Pace Law, Yale University, and co-founder of this sustainable project. We are not taught to realize that our land, slum or not, is our land regardless. We litter. Failing to innerstand the land is ours, or that “it is” and is therefore intrinsically deserving of respect. Dear Black and poor by design people, the government and big businesses systematically devalues and demoralizes us and our land— don’t do their job for them. Stop littering. by @altered.collective
