90s Grab & Mac Asymmetric Velcro Wrap Jacket

Grab & Mac was an independent British fashion label founded and created by Sian-Kate Mooney, who ran the label from 1990 to 2001.

Mooney designed and manufactured the collections herself, developing a distinctly experimental approach to cut, construction and textiles.

During the late 1990s, Grab & Mac was stocked internationally at retailers including Barneys New York, L’Eclaireur Paris, Kirna Zâbête New York, Isetan Tokyo and Joyce Hong Kong, as well as London’s newly opened Urban Outfitters.

The label produced highly constructed, often asymmetrical garments that blurred the line between utility clothing, tailoring and experimental fashion.

This particular jacket is a great example — an asymmetric, deconstructed denim mac with a wrap-over velcro front, engineered seam lines, oversized integrated pockets, funnel collar and pointed handkerchief hem.

Mooney’s late-90s collections included Future Perfect, Summer Storm, Channel Light Vessel Automatic and Arctic Issue, reflecting the futuristic and experimental direction of British independent fashion at the time.

Lieu Commun, Paris 2005 🇫🇷

A unique pop-up concept created in Paris’ Marais district by four independent creatives/designers: Eric Morand, Laurent Garnier, Matali Crasset and Ron Orb.

Designed as a shared space for showcasing their individual collections, the interior brings together natural wood, soft blue walls and organic, tree-inspired display structures to create a warm and fluid environment.

Birch-wood stands line the walls, taking inspiration from tree branches and creating flexible displays for clothing, CDs and objects, while a central freestanding tree structure becomes both a focal point and display fixture.

The result is an almost mobile, living space. Where architecture, nature and product come together to create an intuitive and immersive retail experience.

AW98-99 Undercover SMALL PARTS/EXCHANGE Jacket

Jun Takahashi’s Small Parts / Exchange explored clothing as an interchangeable system. Garments were constructed from detachable components — sleeves, hoods, collars, panels and pockets — that could be removed and exchanged between pieces.

Inspired by the idea of interchangeable toys, the collection blurred fashion, utility and modular design, turning the wearer into part of the construction process.

A defining early Undercover collection that still feels remarkably futuristic today.

A technical Mobius piece where material, movement and function come together nicely.
