If you ever ask me where to shop for your home in Saskatoon, or if you’re looking for the perfect gift for someone, this is absolutely where I’m sending you.

I pop into Alt Haus all the time because there’s always something different to find. There could be original art, some incredible little object I absolutely need, homewares, or the most beautiful sofa in the world. They even do full interior design and murals, and have just brought back a dedicated vintage room (yay).

It’s so inspiring in there and feels completely unlike anywhere else in Saskatoon. And Jo and Miranda are the absolute best.

We have some new followers on here, so it’s time to reintroduce ourselves! We are Miranda (left-she/they) and Jo (right-they/them), owners of Alt Haus! We started Alt Haus almost 7 years ago, as a brick and mortar, and home for our interior design and mural services. I am a registered interior designer who loves mid mod, modern and eclectic design and Jo is an artist specializing in intuitive abstract art and murals. We both love beautiful things, unique spaces and supporting local. We started Alt Haus because we both had always wanted to have a shop of our own, and wanted to create a cool space and experience that we couldn’t find in Saskatoon. We found a great space in Riversdale and then moved into our current space in the Broadway area and have been learning, growing and pivoting ever since. We are so happy to be where we are today, with jobs we love, and a shop full of cool things for you and your home, and are so grateful for your support along the way.❤️

2026 has been unforgiving, my pals.

Sometimes we need to pause and celebrate the things that keep us going: community, self-care, nourishment, movement, identity, expression, and creativity.

So, I wanted to do a little something to celebrate those things and introduce you to some local folks who are working to make Saskatoon a more welcoming, community-centred, and inclusive place. Together, we whipped up a little community care package for one lucky person. 🌈🌈
