I couldn't be a prouder son if I tried. I've watched my mother work tirelessly for years on end to reach her current level of success, and I have no doubt in my mind that she'll only continue to grow. Story time: There's this elder across the street from my building that I see every day on my way to class. I normally wave and say hello before going about my day. Today, he waived me over, and we had a pleasant conversation. I learned a lot about him, including that we are both from Chicago, he loves jazz, and he once met (then) Senator Obama. It was near the end that he opened his trunk, saying that he had something for me. Now, normally, I would listen to reason and run away. However, my instincts told me to stay. Low and behold, he pulls out this book. I'm in law school, so the thought of reading for leisure at this point makes me wanna barf 🤢. It wasn't until I looked inside that I realized that this was truly a blessing. This book happens to cover the exact topic that I'm using for my research paper in my Law & Order seminar. Last night, I was up until 3am working and thinking about how I needed another source for my essay, and here it is. I truly am blessed 🙌🏾.

P.s. for those interested, my topic (a work in progress) is focusing on the correlation between policing and eugenics in America toward African Americans with a particular emphasis on the Jim Crow era (that's where the book comes in). by @alwaysartimus

Finally here and ready conquer the city! Of course, I need to thank everyone who helped me make it this far.
