This was a nice, fluffy, mm romance that was easy to listen to had some very British culture references.

It’s totally predictable. Max works for the Government and is hoping to become an ambassador. He’s up for the position but realises that he doesn’t have a steady relationship, which would help his chances.

Hunter is an American working in the UK and hoping to become an actor. His visa is about to expire.

Max hires Hunter to play the role of his boyfriend. The initial ruse goes well and so Max agrees to marry Hunter so he can stay in the UK and help him get his job.

The pair end up falling for each other and when immigration realises it’s fake and try to deport Hunter then Max uses his Government pals to help keep him in the UK. Max then gets the job he wanted but turns it down so he can stay with Hunter and not have to move to Spain after all.

A dystopian story with a side of low key romance with a potential love triangle. It ends on a cliffhanger with many questions still be to answered.

In this society there was a nuclear war and everyone was forced to live underground. Then history seems to have forgotten how but society reformed. The plum rule from the clouds over the elite. On the ground the minors live - those with small defects and then below them are the majors.

Everyone is chipped and forced to follow the laws. The women are seen as lesser and are just vessels to reproduce ‘for the greater good’. Contracts are made that span five years during the reproduction and infant stage. The child is then taken at 4 years old to go to the academy.

Emeline is a minor. Her family are all Elite and they cast her out due to her eyes not being ‘perfect’. After attending the academy she has just been put into a contract with Collin who is an Ilum. She has also just started a friendship with Hal in secret - he’s a major.

Emeline learns that all is not as it seems and she doesn’t know who to trust and who is leading the rebellion as the Reaper. The book ends with Hal in the custody of the Ilum, accused of being the Reaper and Emeline being drugged by Tabitha, the head of the Ilum after she was found out to be a spy.

Looking forward to the next book.

This was just too long. There was too much filler which made it drag. Shame as the actual story and found family element was great but I did not need a step by step on how he made lasagna.

The story is about Anthony who was abused by the Catholic Church as a child. When he told he was hit by a car which stopped him being able to play professional football. He’s never been kissed and never come out. He is at college and works in a record store.

Chance is the son of a mafia big wig from Boston. His Dad is abusive. He manages to escape and starts working at the music shop. He is closeted but has been hooking up with guys in the apps.

The two have an attraction and start growing close but before things develop Chance has to return home. His Mum has been killed by his Dad. He just leaves Anthony for his own safety as he returns to Boston and kills his father. He then has to go into hiding for the next three years. When it’s safe he returns to Anthony.

The pair talk it out and Anthony understands. They become a couple. When he tells Chance about the Priests Chance then gets his Mafia crew and they kill them. This love declaration makes Anthony propose.

They get married, have kids, start a foundation to help other kids and live a long happy life.

This was the second book and it sadly was not as good as the first. It just didn’t have the vibes and felt repetitive. I also judged Trace ( the FMC ) for forgiving Danny again and again … what a doormat!

The story was also kinda confusing as each chapter kept switching the time line around from after the first dating show, to after the proposal, to the present, to after the reunion so it made it hard to follow.

Basically; Danny and Trace got together during the love island dating show but he broke up with her in the final. She is then pursuing her singing career and he is doing extreme sports.

Trace and Danny meet up at the shows reunion and spend a month together and then he dumps her again.

Trace then goes on another dating show and then he gets jealous and joins the show to win her back. Of course this works.

This book has been all over booktok and while it was a good listen, I think it was overhyped. I was expecting more and some of plot did drag and some of it did confuse me.

At age 15 Zora, who is human meets Aleksander. He has storm magic and will become the emperor of the Kingdom. He is an arrogant and entitled ass but he becomes immediately obsessed with Zora and thinks she is his soulmate. On their first meeting he bites her and realises that she also has storm magic.

Tarrantula is the emperors best mage and he wields knight magic and can control weather elements. He is the most feared assassin.

One day Tarrantula attacks and kills Zoras sister. She manages to capture him and takes him to the army. She then becomes a member of the army and takes part in the iron ritual, which very few people live through. It’s during this she realises that she has storm magic but her commander gets her to hide this fact so they can use it in a plan to take down the emperor.

The commander also makes Zora train with Tarantula, who is a prisoner but has agreed to help the army in exchange for something. The two fight a lot and banter back and forth in true enemies style but Tarrantula has a very vocal attraction towards her. He’s also possessive and jealous.

Zoras mum gets kidnapped and the emperor will do a prisoner swap. On the way Zora and Tarrantula grow closer .. 😉… and then the double crossing starts to be revealed. Tarrantula is actually the Emperor and they switched places years ago and have been pretending. Tarantula planned to get taken. Zora already knew all of this and used it to her advantage to get close and kill his dragon. He started an entire war to get close to her.

TBH : I ended this being pretty confused about who had bested who…??? But I was annoyed that dragon got blown up, that was mean.

This was a nice straightforward palate cleanser and gets a four star review for the vibes.

It’s about a reality show where the contestants all turn up thinking they are going onto shows for writing or music or dance but in fact have been entered into a dating show - think Love Island.

The contestants have to couple up and also complete challenges and there is an overall winning couple. There are only four couples which actually made it easy to connect with them.

The FMC; Calla, has been entered by her sister. Her fiancée died two years ago and she’s been closed off to everything since. He was her high-school sweetheart and the only boy she’s ever been with.

The MMC; Eli, is her opposite. He’s a playboy that’s never had a girlfriend. He has done some acting and has a famous dad but Joe just has a bad reputation in the press.

The couples all mix and match to start with but Calla and Eli have a connection. Sofia tries to get between them but they manage to stick together despite Calla having some doubts. They start to make plans for after the show but then Calla finds out that Elis father orchestrated the whole thing to improve his son’s reputation and Eli knew about it. Feeling used and inadequate Calla dumps him despite them winning the show.

Eli then turns up in Chicago to try and win her back but again she can’t trust him. Finally months later she watches the show and realises that despite everything their feelings for each other were genuine and then she tracks him down and they get together.

So I have taken a break from this series and there are still two more books to go after this. It seems excessive as joy a lot happens except the repetitive how many times are they all going to get it on.

Basically, Serena starts the book still getting over being raped by the Rabbit guy. Everyone hates Sin as it was all his fault she ended up in the special ward where it all went down….they end up forgiving him.

They work out that Adam is the one that raped her but he kills Sin. Serena then unleashes her inner monster and kills him.

So…I’m guessing in the next book we learn isn’t dead and Church’s dad continues to do shady shit?? 🤔🤦‍♀️

This is about a Kingdom that is divided into two with both sides having different types of magic. The Evermore side uses mind magic and the Bomardi side use heart magic. As a way to try and get both sides to get along the Children get to attend school on both sides, alternating years. This obviously doesn’t work that well and there are conflicts between the two sides.

The story is told with flashback chapters that show us a present day and then detail how the school@years played out.

Our FMC is Briony and she is the Kings daughter. She has a twin brother who is slightly older and as a male he is the next heir. A prophesy declared that he will be the heir to end all the wars, however he gets killed in battle and without a male heir the Evermore kingdom falls and is taken by the Bomardi.

Briony is captured and taken to a dungeon with other Evermore woman and is then sold at an auction. The women are degraded and treated as lower citizens. They are used as a boost in magic to the Bomardi men that buy them.

Briony is purchased by Tovin, who she had a crush on at school despite him being a bully. He actually treats her well, much better than the other women get treated. She has to pretend to all his friends that she is also abused by him.

Mallow is the leader of the Bomardi and she is bonded to a dragon. The last dragon but actually….thats not true and we learn in the epilogue that her twin brother has in fact been with the dragon who saved him m in battle…..

This is a non spicy book. The MMC is obviously in love with her but she can’t see it and thinks he hates her and is just using her but it’s pretty clear that’s not the case. She also has more magic than her brother so is she the heir? Or will the brother bond the dragon and become more powerful?

No idea when the next book comes out but will be added to the TBR that never stops growing 🤦‍♀️

An mm romance between a previously straight 24 year old hockey coach and his 18 year old HIGH SCHOOL student - (had to age these dudes up in my head).

Jonah - is a new coach at this prep school. He was previously playing professional hockey but his life imploded. He was in a relationship with Madison for two years but she left him after he slept with a 16 year old, who then blackmailed him for two million dollars. The ex girlfriend then went off with his older brother who also is a pro hockey player. Jonah’s club found out and he was fired and started drinking.

Damon is the gay hockey team captain. He is out and his parents accept that but won’t support his decision to not play hockey after school. They won’t pay for his college unless he keeps playing.

Damon and the new coach clash to start with so he decides to work out a way to get him fired. He thinks he can seduce him but he actually does find him attractive.

Jonah initially resists Damon’s flirting and advances but eventually gives in and they start fooling around.

Jonah’s ex girlfriend turns out to be pregnant. She is having his brothers baby and they had been having an affair. His brother also bribed the underage girl, who actually was 19 and not underage - he wanted Jonah and Madison to split up so he could be with Madison.

Jonah’s life is spiralling again and he gets accused of not supporting a player that had a drug problem who ended up dead and he loses his coaching job. He’s then devastated to hear about Damon’s plan; he’s now in love with the school boy. He ends up leaving town.

Damon never planned on reporting Jonah and he leaves school to go and find his man. Eventually after weeks of looking he tracks him down to a school in California and they make up, hook up and move in together.

There were parts of this that were really good but as an adult it’s hard not to judge the Coach’s actions towards his HIGH SCHOOL student.

The banter in this book is hilarious and the spice is definitely spicing 🔥 I’m not usually one for keeping it in the family but this book does it really well.

Tilly is 22 and in college. She is sex positive and always down for a good time. She knows what she likes and she owns it. She definitely doesn’t want a relationship.

Tilly goes to the sex club one night with her friend Chloe and sees an attractive older guy who is getting it on with another woman and for days after she can’t stop thinking about him. When Zephyr, a fellow classmate asks if she wants to hook up she agrees, wanting to forget the guy.

Later on she goes to Zephyrs house to hook up again and meets his Dad….its the dude from the club. She then ends up hooking up with the Dad in secret and the son.

This goes on for a little while till the son realises. He’s not mad about it and they teases her and his Dad. Zephyr thinks he loves Chloe anyway.

Zephyrs best friend Jordan then gets aggressive with Tilly. And a woman at the sex club gets possessive of Caesar. Turns out Jordan loves Zephyr and Anne is his Mum. They end up kidnapping Tilly and planning to kill her but Caesar rescues her.

Caesar then realises he is in love with Tilly and they get their HEA despite the 26 year age gap and she becomes Zephyrs step mum.

This was just an enjoyable good time with real laugh out loud moments. The dynamic between Zephyr and Tilly was great. The audio was brilliant too.

This was kinda average. Easy enough to listen to but nothing new here. It’s an mm romance in the World of bronc riding.

Boone is the cowboy. Married to Jade and with a daughter. They have decided to get divorced. Grady is Jades younger brother. He’s fat and always had a crush on Boone.

Jade had to go away for a few weeks training for work and Grady has just dropped out of college so ends up staying at the house with Boone and things start to happen between the two guys.

Grady then takes a job as a photographer on the circuit and has to share a trailer with Boone and they start an affair. Jade then catches them. She is hurt but eventually comes around to the idea.

This kinda gave me the ick abit… Boone has slept with both siblings 🤢 and is now stepdad to his Neice. Family cross overs just aren’t my thing.

I was hoping for better based off Booktok reviews; this was just cliche, predictable and kinda boring. I zoned out a few times. It’s a smutty read but even those activities are repetitive and don’t really add to the story or chemistry between the characters.

Basically, June is a therapist. She decides to help her patients by killing the men that have harmed them. She has a patient who is worried about her Neice and plans to kill Theo. She stalks him for a while before deciding to make her move.

Theo is actually the president of the local MC club and has seen him stalking her so has done his own stalking back. When she attempts murder he comes up with a deal that she spend 30 days with him and she will see that he didn’t hurt anyone and she can kill him at the end if she doesn’t believe him. Of course she agrees …

Theo also makes people disappear but mostly through false incriminating evidence or coercion. He works with a cop who asks Theo to help him track down a serial killer. That killer just so happens to be June.

When Theo doesn’t hand June over the cop kidnaps her and plans to kill her but she gets rescued in time. Along the way we learn that Theo had a kid and a girlfriend but the kid was killed and then the girlfriend committed suicide, so it takes a lot for him to trust again but he falls in love with June.

This is the first in a series but I don’t think I will continue with anymore. I have too many books on my TBR to be reading mediocre stories.
