Relaxation—that was my watchword today. After dealing with the challenging everyday issues currently confronting us and complicating our lives, I sat down to play and created some inner space for myself. The times we live in are anything but healthy or conducive to well-being. It is impossible to overlook the fact that an increasing number of people are struggling with this external imbalance. Late at night,I found myself drawn once more to the sand mandala created by @andreea_steinle . Time seems to stand still as I sit there; the world around me shrinks, while my inner self expands. I often reflect on how a musical instrument can transform people—provided there is resonance. Unfortunately, that resonance is often stifled in childhood by the conditioning processes of the school system. When we do finally begin the journey, it can be challenging to break free from an outward focus and turn our gaze inward. Otherwise, we simply continue acting according to our conditioning. Every time I play…my instruments, I set myself the task of looking within. That is where the source of my inspiration lies. That is where the light resides—the sacred essence that makes me rise each day, that lets me breathe, that makes my heart beat so willingly and sets my hands to dancing. It is timeless and part of the greater whole. And this small part of the greater whole can only act in a state of connection, knowing that everything is interrelated at the same time. Gratitude,a virtue that constantly reminds me that nothing lasts forever and nothing is merely ordinary. It allows me to marvel at life and approach it with reverence. Butiba 2026 💥You arrive as a musician and leave as a friend. The festival was an enriching experience. I met so many open-hearted people—it was truly special. On the banks of the Daugava,I sat during the @butiba_festival and played my inner emptiness out into the world. I felt so richly gifted with impressions, encounters, and people—with sounds and experiences. And yet, I remained empty—contentedly empty. And this peace revealed itself through my playing. I would like to share that with you. It may sound contradictory; usually, we always want to be fulfilled and filled up. But being empty allows the present moment to be felt in all its fullness.
