new york, i love you

it was so lovely to see all of my current buyers and to meet all of my new ones. talking with so many of you who are also trying to move slower in this industry keeps me hopeful in a world that feels like it’s on fire.

september market brings back a lot of heavy feelings, three years ago is when my dad was nearing the end of his life and being in market helped me get through some really tough moments. but now, walking by benches i would walk to at hours when the rest of the city was quiet, to let myself be sad about him, reminds me of that sadness that’s still inside of me, but it also makes me feel that he is here with me and i know he’d be proud that i’ve stayed true to my beliefs in what i do, and how far i’ve come in the last three years. and for that, cheers to twenty three.

thank you all for continuing to allow me to do what i love doing, while also feeling like we are all doing our best to be more cautious and intentional in how we move through an industry that is known to move at an extremely fast and dangerous pace.

also a huge thank you to my brands for believing in me and for always being so supportive.

it was so fun catching up with old friends, squeezing in some amazing meals, and drinking pickle juice with @adriiadamss every day (old traditions never die)

shout out to the very best intern aka the most supportive boyfriend @lastgreathero i wouldn’t have been able to get through the week without him.

two years with this guy @lastgreathero although it feels like i’ve known him my whole life, date two felt like two years. thankful for the universe to bring me someone so patient and understanding and kind. i’ve never met someone so genuinely positive and it’s sometimes annoying but mostly encouraging, even on my worst days. don’t know where i’d be without you, maybe not here. i’d probably be building a spaceship trying to get back to the planet i think i’m from (clearly not earth). but i’m glad i’m here with you. love you, so much. bLeSsiNgS. by @alybo23
