POSTS STORIES REELS
✨️Today, I am a published author. I'm almost without words. My heart is full of gratefulness and my eyes brimming with tears. For years I wasn't sure I'd ever land my dream job, that I'd ever write a story an audience falls for. But there was always a chance and so for the past 13 years I have worked hard to get here, to learn how to write for readers and craft well-written, exciting stories. And today, I finally get to hand one over to you. I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. I put my everything into this book: my passion, my hopes, my fears, my anger, my grief. Every emotion Anula and Reeri have, I have felt at one time, too. Every sari and jewel Anula loves, I love, too. Every breeze and juicy mango Reeri longs for, I have longed for, too. Every trope, every bit of banter, every dream of love and safety and a better future for loved ones comes from my own love.  I love this book. I love that it's the one that landed me my dream job. I love that it's the first story I get to share with the wider world. I hope you love it, too.✨️ #romantasy #debut #hersoulforacrown #fantasybooks #fantasyromance #slowburn #enemiestolovers #srilankan #romancebooks by @alyshasbooks

I still tear up when I see this 🥹 Debuting is this weird mix of hope and fear, of living in a dream but also in reality. I loved my debut day, my release party, my first ever book tour. I felt your support and love, saw it in tagged posts and early reviews. But it didn’t really hit me, how many of you there were, until a week later when the Her Soul for a Crown became a #1 Oklahoma Bestseller. I had hoped to make it on the list, but to be #1? Like I said, I’m still tearing up about it. Thank you all so much for taking a chance on a debut author and her first book. Thank you all for your excitement for Anula and Reeri’s story, for the amazingly gorgeous sprayed edges and breathtaking cover. Thank you for continuing to talk about it to your friends, and for leaving reviews all over the internet. YOU made this book a bestseller and continue to do so. I am beyond grateful. My heart is so full, its love is leaking from my eyes. 🫶 by @alyshasbooks
I love saris. I aways have. They're so gorgeous and form fitting and highlight the beauty of a woman's body. And the jewels! I absolutely love the decadence of layered jewelry. These are no the outfits of a woman making herself small for the world, or hiding, or being quiet. To me, a sari is a statement. It is a claim. It is loud and demanding of attention, of respect, of culture. Sarongs are doing the same now. In HER SOUL FOR A CROWN, Anula wears her saris and jewelry like armor. They give her confidence and strength. It's why I wear saris to my book events. To tap into centuries worth of women who came before me, who struggled and succeeded, who chose to celebrate their beauty, and who to this day are celebrating their culture. by @alyshasbooks
If this month's book recs don't show you my wide range of tastes I'm not sure what will. I absolutely devoured each of these books and would happily do so again. What have you read lately that you'd highly recommend? by @alyshasbooks

My grumpy x sunshine book comes out this March! Have you added it to your TBR? . . Dark academia meets a fresh twist on the legend of Atlantis in this adventurous historical romantasy inspired by Sri Lankan mythology, for readers of A Study in Drowning and Heavenly Bodies. Find the lost academy. Rewrite destiny. Fall for a cursed god? In rain-soaked Kelaniya, Savera refuses to be sacrificed to the sea god. Her last hope of survival lies in legend—find the sunken island of Kumari Kandam, and with it the Academy of Revision, where gods once rewrote fate itself. If she can find it, she can rewrite her ending. But only one being is rumored to know the way. Sohon once was a heavenly scribe worshipped for his knowledge. Now, history has buried him under myths so monstrous, he’d rather not be remembered at all. To vanish for good, he must destroy the last record of himself, archived within the academy’s library. When Savera’s desperate prayer reaches him, he offers a bargain: he’ll lead her to the academy…if she takes him with her. Hunted by soldiers and a vengeful sea god, they flee across treacherous seas, bound by a false marriage and a growing attraction neither of them can afford. In stolen glances and shared nights, Savera begins to see the man beneath the myth; Sohon sees something far more dangerous: a reason to exist. But the academy was never meant to be resurfaced. Within its shadowed halls and endless scrolls lies a magic that demands sacrifice. To claim it, Savera may have to choose between the destiny she’s fought for and the god she was never meant to love. by @alyshasbooks
