As I sit on the plane ride home (one of many) I can’t help but reflect on the time I got to spend in Nairobi. When people ask me how it was, it’s hard. It’s hard to put into words the things I experienced there. All I know is that I’m coming back to the states a different person than I was when I left.

The complete awe I have in these people and our Lord is overflowing. I was met with open arms, being fully emerged into a culture that’s not my own, yet I quickly learned to adore. You can’t help but be filled with joy when you are around these kids, families, and communities. No matter what these people have been through, or what they have lost, you will never not find thankful hearts and happy souls. Their eyes are bright and their smiles are contagious!!

I want to say a HUGE thank you to Karen, Terry, and the rest of the team for the greatest 3 weeks of my life. I have learned so much about our would, our God, and myself. There’s no greater feeling than getting to serve others. To be the hands and feet of Jesus is the greatest reward. I’m leaving Kenya with some crazy stories, new life long friends, a new perspective, and an overwhelming amount of gratitude. Thank you Jesus for your goodness and favor, though the good and the bad.
