Sold two houses yesterday, lots 3 and 14! It was the last day of Paper Assemblage @ministryofcasualliving and I'm delighted that two people bought in to the concept of 'Pot of Gold'! by @am_mazed

Pot of GoldHousing 101A House and Piece of LandMid-January, @ministryofcasualliving put out a call for art works using paper. They invited artists to come to the space and make art, or to drop off work already made.I thought about all the papers in my home, and what paper did I want to shift out, and by doing so transform the energy.I chose the legal documents my last landlord's lawyer served me when I went to British Columbia's Residential Tenancy Board to dispute the no-fault eviction for landlord's use of property, and figured paper-houses would be a good transformation! Wiki-how showed me how to use paper and water (*no flour*) to make houses, and so it began...On the first Saturday, I showed up at 750 Fairfield Road, Victoria B.C. with a bowl for my water, and a stack of paper including the legal docs as well as notes I'd written for a now defunct not-for-profit housing society (NOHAHS.ORG) and a housing theatre project (that was killed by the pandemic) and for 3 Thursday evenings and 3 Saturday afternoons I made what I thought were going to be bricks and walls. But a huge painted canvas showed up, and I like to build collages on other people's discarded art, so I went with the flow and made the piece of art "Pot of Gold" pictured here.The bricks became representational individual houses/buildings, and the walls became pieces of land...There's 18 pieces of land, each with a house - including two tinys; and one piece of land with a duplex, and one double-lot with two houses. They are magnetic, suitable for attaching to any metal object (including your fridge) and are available for purchase so you can own your very own piece of land with a house. They range in price from $15.00 for a tiny, to $30.00 for the double lot. 😉 😆 You can visit the exhibition every Thursday eve & Saturday afternoon till March 1. The last two images shown here are two other pieces I have in the exhibition. They both started as paper collages that were cut up and attached to canvas. They are also for sale, though you have to buy the whole piece of art; unlike the Pot of Gold which you can buy a piece of!!! by @am_mazed
