Fall is showing its signs at the Montgomery Bridge in Waterville, Vermont. This is one of three covered bridges in the town and one of five crossing the North Branch of the Lamoille River within a 5-mile stretch. It's gorgeous in foliage season here but also picturesque any time of the year.

Holmes Covered Bridge - Lake Road, Charlotte, Vermont

I do love Vermont’s covered bridges!

Built in 1870, this wooden, one-lane covered bridge is adjacent to the Charlotte Town Beach where I captured my previous two images.

According to the placard mounted on the bridge, the town Selectmen originally specified the bridge’s width and height to accommodate passage of “a load of hay, high and wide.” taken in Charlotte, Vermont by @amajanne

Heading to Bristol
