The Welcome Party ✨ we truly felt like the luckiest people in the whole wide world to welcome our guests to the beautiful Palmilla Newport Beach for tequila, tacos, and toasts to kickoff our wedding weekend. The night was filled with endless laughter and most importantly - tons of love.

It’s hard to believe that it has already been one week since we were surrounded by our family, friends, and the most wonderful team, to pull off what I can proudly say was one absolute hell of a party. I have absolutely cried every single day since, feeling such an overwhelming gratitude for everyone traveling to California to celebrate our marriage and beginning of this next chapter in our lives. For those who couldn’t make the trip, I truly felt your presence in the morning while getting ready. The weather was gorgeous, the vibes were immaculate, and the love was so, so present.

To my parents, thank you for making all of this possible. We have dreamt of this day for as long as I can remember. Collin & I are so appreciative.

To my Husband, I love you so much and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to wake up with you everyday for the rest of forever. Thank you for always making me laugh, for teaching me how to do less, love more, and enjoy all the little moments in between. Adopt Dexter! He’s a certified good boy 🐾

Dexter is a 60-pound, approximately 1½-year-old shepherd mix with giant ears, an even bigger heart, and a lovable personality to match. Dexter began his life living on the streets and then in @friendsofeastvalley shelter where he was euth listed after being hit by a car. He has completely healed and is ready to enjoy life with you!

Dexter is sweet, intelligent, curious, cuddly, and incredibly people-oriented. He loves being near his humans. He’s friendly with both people and dogs, playful, treat-motivated, and always ready to be part of the action. He can be a little unsure when left alone, so his future family will need to help him build confidence and learn that it’s okay when his people step away.

For a young shepherd, Dexter has a wonderfully moderate energy level. He enjoys walks and exploring and is great on leash, but he’s also happy to settle in with his people afterward. He still has plenty of puppy in him, though, and sometimes needs a little help remembering that it’s time to slow down and relax.

Dexter also has some pretty great house manners: he’s potty trained, crate trained, non-destructive, and sleeps wonderfully through the night in his crate. He’s smart, eager to learn, and very motivated by treats, making him a fun dog to continue training.

More than anything, Dexter wants a family of his very own. He’s affectionate, social, playful, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick. After a rough start to life, he’s ready to experience life with a family who will give him the patience, structure, companionship, and love he’s been waiting for.

And yes, those ears are even better in person. 🥹

Meet Dexter formerly known as Zumi #A2266138 at East Valley Animal Shelter❤️‍🩹

Dexter was once adopted from the shelter, but sadly ended up living on the streets. He eventually returned to the shelter after being hit by a car, with an untreated wound that had become severely infected.

Thankfully, people who cared about him refused to let his story end there. Thanks to @chess_fitness and El Segundo Animal Hospital who immediately stepped up to get him to the hospital, where he received the critical medical care he needed. ❤️

After healing, Dexter found himself in hospital boarding…. but he still needed a foster and a rescue to truly have a chance at a new beginning.

That’s where we came in. 🫶🏼
We couldn’t let this sweet boy survive everything he had been through only to be left waiting for his next chapter. Dexter is now safe with us, and we’re so excited to help him find the loving forever home he deserves. Thank you @amanda.vanceee for fostering!
His story isn’t over. It’s finally just beginning! 🤍

This week marks a year since our first loss.

Reading this poem brings back the fear and panic that settled in quickly at my first 8 week appointment. The awful feeling of my ears ringing, my breath feeling out of reach, and the denial I turned to in trying to find reason as to why this was happening. I told myself I’d be more careful with my expectations the next time, then quickly I decided that I too deserve to be excited and look forward to having a healthy baby.

When those two lines showed up again in October, I was so nervous, but I allowed myself to dream again. What if we miscarried again? What if it would all be okay? Would our baby have blue eyes like Collin’s? Would it be a girl? Would Geno finally cuddle with someone? It was a girl, but at 10 weeks she stopped growing as well.

Every time I consider sharing this publicly, I chicken out. But today, in honor of National Infertility Week, I share this in hopes that it helps even one person to feel the support and love that exists within this community. In talking to women who have gone through loss, no two stories are the same. But our hearts understand. I look at myself in these photos and see a year of moments carrying my babies, celebrating, lifting my spirits, recovering, and becoming.

I have been so lucky. I never felt alone on this journey. Our family, friends, coworkers, pets (best cuddle therapy.. get a dog) have all shown up across the moments big and small - celebrating *any* step of progress and holding me when I’ve cried. The past year has broken me in some ways, but it’s also prompted me to rebuild my own perception of myself.

I’ve never been prouder to be a woman.. knowing how strong I am and what I still have left to accomplish. My season is just now unfolding ✨ by @amanda.vanceee
