I felt hesitant to post this poem. It's been a really rough week. I lost my dog on Monday. And today is the eighteenth anniversary of my dad’s death.

I chose to stick with my posting schedule. Life isn't always easy and fun. And sometimes social media likes to pretend it is. Not everything I share is going to be a win.

That being said, I am okay. Not in a skipping around with a bouquet of flowers kind of way. But I am going to be okay.

Thanks again @writersebchadwick for another great prompt idea.

My story is less about what I've accomplished and more about who I've become. I think that little girl would be proud if she knew what we've overcome (though I might leave out some of the details).

My accomplishments are still being achieved. Every word I write. Every query I send. Even the rejections I receive. They all count. And I hope I am showing my girls what it looks like to not give up on your dreams. by @amanda_e_waldo

This beautiful boy crossed the rainbow bridge today. That is all I have in me for a post right now. Not sure I'll be that active on here for the next few days. I have a few posts scheduled. His life can't be summed up by twenty pictures, but I tried anyway. by @amanda_e_waldo

Phew... what an emotionally draining week. If it wasn't for an hour long session at my kid's choir practice, I'm not sure I'd have anything to show.

I use an em dash, suddenly my work might be AI. I search a reference photo for my art, and it's probably AI. I look for a new musical artist for inspiration. AI. There's no escaping it. I'm tired, guys. I just want to be creative and not worry about it. by @amanda_e_waldo
