Forty !
Not because I have it all figured out... but because I've finally stopped believing I was supposed to.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated me, sent a text, made a phone call, posted a picture, or whispered a prayer with my name attached to it. I felt every bit of the love.

I closed out the celebration in Greece—wandering through Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini—and somewhere between the sunsets and the sea, it hit me: I'm living a life I used to write about.

What once looked like a vision board and journal entries has become my reality. I always dreamed of attending an HBCU, building a career I loved, living in a city that inspired me, becoming a wife and a mother, owning a home, and seeing the world. The timeline didn't always match my plans, but God has never confused delay with denial.

Greece reminded me to count my blessings twice. Not because my life is perfect, but because someone, somewhere, is praying for the life I'm privileged to live. That's not a boast—it's gratitude.

Forty has also taught me that life gets lighter when you stop taking yourself so seriously. Wear the outfit. Book the trip. Laugh too loud. Change your mind. Rest without explaining yourself.

Lead with listening ears and an open heart because everyone is carrying something you can't see.

And remember that nothing lasts forever—and that's not always a sad thing. Some friendships end. Careers evolve. Dreams change. You outgrow versions of yourself that once felt like home.

For a long time I thought letting go meant failure. Now I know it's often the greatest act of faith.

Growth has never asked me to be comfortable. It has only asked me to be willing.

So here's to forty.
To softer boundaries and louder laughter.
To choosing peace over performance.
To becoming instead of proving.
