A few days late, but HAPPY GOTCHA DAY to my delightful and bizarre little potato-bat, Pepper. Every day since bringing her home, she has brought me so much love and joy. She is deaf as a post, and soft as velvet, and has the silliest little pointy ears. She loves putting her paws up and looking out the window on car rides, she doesn’t like cuddles, and doesn’t understand toys but gives me a little kiss when I give her one anyway. She doesn’t know how to bark (see last video) but is very good at fierce little huffs. She loves a mosey and a sniff on her walks, she likes hiding under coffee tables, she has a peppy little stiff-legged wide-stride when she walks and does a funny little squatty-walk in circles when she needs to poop. She has no idea how to interact with Ollie and Ollie has no idea how to interact with her, but they both get excited to see each other and share delicate and friendly little sniffs and tail-wags. It has been such a joy to see her fur grow back, her health improve, and her energy and excitement for walks increasing exponentially. She is such a wonderful demonstration of how a rescue dog will truly blossom with love. She is so so perfect and I love her so so so much. #schipperke #ilovemyrescuedog by @amandaandhat

Apparently people kept asking Jamie Lee Curtis if she wore a prosthetic belly for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once. “I’ve been sucking my stomach in since I was 11, … I very specifically decided to relinquish and release every muscle I had that I used to clench to hide the reality. That was my goal.”
