Reflecting on my friend Rich today. This clip will always have an impact on my soul and keep my perspective eternal. Rich was in the final days of his life and he wanted to sing. He was in the middle of a grueling battle with cancer and in a great deal of pain, yet when we started this hymn, he sang out with every ounce of strength he had left. The horrible reality of cancer is that Rich had a massive tumor growing out of his shoulder that was impinging on his movement. Even having the shirt covering it caused discomfort. Rich was filled with gladness, but my emotions were very raw. Rich handed me a tissue when I began to cry and he told me not to be sad because he knew where he was going.🕊

As sang 'Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus’ this beloved man was not just singing words he knew by heart; he was living them out. He was looking toward his heavenly home.

I’m so grateful I had these moments with Rich. I knew him for such a short time but will never forget his voice and the honor of singing with him. This hymn will always be a reminder that no matter what we are walking through, there is a peace that passes all understanding.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.'

Lord, we thank You for the life of Rich and the beautiful sound of his praise even in the midst of his pain. I pray for anyone watching this who feels overshadowed by their own 'earthly things' today. Help them to turn their eyes toward You. ...my earliest memories of singing are just like this. Mom and dad taught us to honor God with our voices. That is what they have always demonstrated to us and it's a legacy of faithfulness that I am eternally grateful for. I am so thankful to the Lord that I was able to spend the week with my parents, even in the midst of uncertainty and struggle... my heart was so blessed by the precious moments we shared this week. Dad is spending a lot of time resting right now as he regains some strength! Lord willing, his valve replacement will happen next month. I was able to accompany them to several appointments and am very encouraged by the confidence his cardiologist has in his ability to mend dad's heart. While we wait for Dad's upcoming surgery and navigate this road, my brother brought his guitar over and we sang together as a family. 'In the Sweet By and By' has always been such a comfort and aligns our hearts and minds with the eternal perspective we all need, especially at times like this. Thank you all so much for the endless prayers, messages, and love you’ve sent our way. Please keep lifting dad up—we trust the Lord completely with whatever healing He has in store. Dad always says 'here, there or in the air'

After a week filled with hospital rooms, difficult news, and so much uncertainty, this was exactly the kind of shock my parents needed. Their beloved grandaughter showing up to surprise them when it mattered most. Seeing my dad smile like this from his own living room makes every stressful moments of this week worth it. 🥺❤️ we are trusting God for his healing.

It may be a heavy season, but we have unexpected moments of joy from the Lord that carry us through.

I had this in my stories but we all needed to see it again (& again).

It fills my heart with joy to see these sweet saints and sing with them! Encompass meets every Weds at 10 a.m. at Eagle Brook White Bear Lake campus (55+). They sing hymns, enjoy teaching from God's word, prayer and small groups. If you are longing for fellowship lkle this, jump on in!

Because they purchased NEW hymnals!!! I have a collection of hundreds of old hymnals from Methodiat to Mennonite because not only do I sing them on a regular basis, I use them to make jewelry. Really grateful for the Lord provision today!!! And... I will always say YES to hymnal donations 😍

Hello, friends! 🤍 I get questions from time to time asking if I am available to sing for memorial services. The answer is YES, I would be absolutely honored.

As I look at my schedule moving forward, I am making myself more available for these meaningful services, as well as weddings and special events. I work closely with families on service planning and song choices to create a beautiful moment that truly honors your loved one. Providing comfort in song means so much to me and I seek to honor the Lord in this always. I only want my feet planted where he leads me.

In addition to my regular concerts and worship leading, I am also venturing back into singing more often for hospice, assisted living, and memory care communities around the Twin Cities. I love my seniors so much! If you have a loved one in a setting like this and would like me to come sing, please reach out and I will work with their activity director to try and make it happen! 🎶✨

Lamentations 3:22-23 I guess I've highlighted this a few times 😂 but it always cuts straight to the heart. I am so thankful for his mercies and the countless ways the Lord has sustained me through circumstances that feel impossible. Still holding on to the truth of His word. I have been reading the Bible chronologically and it has been the biggest blessing!

24 years of marriage! 🤍 If this season has taught us anything, it’s that life is full of unexpected twists, but our marriage is the safest place to land. Out of all the cities, all the streets and all the exact moments in time, we crossed paths! We were both in Seattle for mere hours. Jim and I were walking through the market and we looked up and see my nephew Michael and his new bride Madison walking straight at us. We didn't know they were there, they didn't know we were there. But God knew and this was just the sweetest gift to spend a little time together! They just got married and we are celebrating our anniversary today! We love life's little moments of blessings! by @amandaellisonsings
