our first rodeo 🐎

yesterday was so special to me. getting to watch strangers try How Tea for the first time, celebrating something Audrey and I have been working on for so long together, and being surrounded by my family, best friends, clients (turned friends hehe), even a few folks from my high school came through. I’ll never forget who showed up for us yesterday and I’m so grateful!

Big thank you to everyone who helped out (you know who you are), but my husband gets an extra special shout out because he was working so hard no one got a picture of him.

My relationship with alcohol has always been a little complicated, but over the past few years I’ve realized more and more that it just doesn’t serve me the way it used to.

About a year ago, I was sitting in my best friend Audrey’s living room drinking a non-alcoholic beverage. As we sat there, we were talking about how most NA drinks are either too bitter, too watery, or just don’t feel like something you’d actually want to crack open at a party, on the patio, at a concert, or on a lake day.

In the middle of that conversation, we looked at each other and said, “Should we just make our own?”

A year later, it’s finally here.

We poured so much into this over the last year - late nights, countless taste tests, curveballs, and a whole lot of learning. Our goal was to create something that had the vibe of cracking open a cold beer, but with flavor and ingredients that made us feel good. Something you could enjoy one can or a whole 4-pack of and still wake up feeling like yourself.

I’m especially grateful that I got to build this alongside my best friend, Audrey. I truly could not have done this without her, and she has been the best partner to learn from throughout this process.

Japan has a way of being lively while still making me feel completely calm. The culture, the people, and all the little alleys in between.
