“Undercurrent” is official ! ✨🌊 this piece combines my high-craft, hand-built ceramic technique with emotive and intricate drawing. I build these works intuitively - in my ongoing exploration of movement. I draw inspiration from nature and work in spiral compositions that look different from every angle. Flowing, dancing, lifting, whirling , spiraling , morphing - controlled chaos that never rests. #ceramic #ceramicsculpture #handbuilt #handbuiltceramics #contemporaryceramics #contemporaryart #collectart #handmade #precision #seascape #water #flow #current #naturelovers #abstractart by @amandaklimekstudio

Final composition ( mockup- glazing starts today ! ) Been working on this gal since Jan - havnt applied to anything or shown much this year - which makes me feel guilt/shame/fomo - but the reality is I started a new job this year and I needed to spend more time and energy on establishing myself in my new job. I have had bandwidth to job and make- but not promote. I just have to be at peace with the fact the I can’t show up 100% in every direction all at once. Hopefully as I get into rhythm at work, things will rebalance . I am going to push to have time to do open studios next year. 🙏At the end of the day, I am so excited for this new piece- it was really ambitious and I went for it and somehow, she’s survived the bisque. Wish me luck and to whomever actually read all this - thanks for listening 💗✨🌱 #ceramic #handbuilt #ceramicsculpture #originalart #bayareaartist by @amandaklimekstudio

Yearly reminder it’s really a lot more fun to love and be kind. 💕✨Happy Pride to everyone out there who has ever struggled to be seen and understood, to everyone who has to wake up wondering what new limitations and violence will be imposed upon them , to everyone who needs a break but a breaks not coming , to everyone who holds up others and keeps their loved ones going even when they are in pain, to everyone who listens and believes their loved ones’ experience , to everyone who needs support and everyone who gives support, and everyone who decides to choose joy as much as they can. by @amandaklimekstudio

So - we escaped the horrors and went to Asia for a bit. Still processing all the beauty and wonder and jet lag. I am overloaded with photos - you can’t take a bad photo in Kyoto, it is impossible. But unexpectedly- saw many lovely snails . Loook at them ! Aren’t they dreamy!? I’m a snail person now. #lifegoals✔️ #thisisart #snail #kyoto #nature by @amandaklimekstudio

Clouds Will Gather ✨ finally finished this piece I put on hold for a while. It’s dancing and crying , it’s ferocious joy, it’s mixy , it’s messy, it’s living with intensity , it’s pretty pretty pink. 🦩✨ ink and gouache on paper 22x30 #worksonpaper #pink #intense #contemporaryart #inkdrawing by @amandaklimekstudio

I’ve been doing a small series of works on paper during my funemployment ( new job starts next week! ) continuing to use the visual language of water to explore emotional states. Interestingly- different folks get different things from looking at them. What do you see? ✨🌊#worksonpaper #ink #drawing #ocean #water by @amandaklimekstudio
