🌟 Welcome to my world! I’m Amanda Michael, an artist and oil landscape painter. I am originally from Rochester, NY, and relocated to Tega Cay, SC and I’ve found my creative sanctuary here. My two amazing daughters, my greatest fans and critics, bring immense joy and inspiration to my life. My mischievous dog, Pixie, adds delightful chaos to my studio. I work primarily with oils, drawn to their rich textures and vibrant colors, and love pairing my art with vintage frames sourced from local thrift and antique shops. When I’m not painting or parenting, I enjoy losing myself in a good book or exploring nature trails. Life’s challenges and triumphs shape my artistic journey, each experience adding depth to my work. Thank you for joining me in blending art, motherhood, and life’s beautiful chaos into each piece. 🎨💫

I refuse to believe God gave me this gift and this dream for no reason. 🤍🎨

To every artist chasing a dream that feels bigger than them… keep creating. ✨

Follow a human artist. We’re out here spending 6 hours on something AI could make in 6 seconds… because apparently putting your whole soul into something is incredibly inefficient. 🎨 by @amandamichaelart

Very excited to be part of this conversation! ✨

This Saturday, I’ll be joining a panel of fellow artists at the VAPA Center for “Small Art for Small Places” — a conversation about why small-scale artwork matters, the intimacy it can create, and the impact it can have in the spaces we live in.

As someone who loves creating pieces meant to feel collected, personal, and at home in the little corners of our lives, I’m looking forward to sharing my perspective and hearing from the other artists on the panel.

Come join us! 🤍

📍 VAPA Center — 700 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte
📅 Saturday, October 3
⏰ 5–6 PM
🎟️ Free admission + free parking

Yesterday was a little love letter to my creative soul. 🌸
Started the morning with a sound bath under the trees at McLawn Farms, followed by an afternoon of picking flowers, painting pumpkins, and soaking up the sunshine.
I’ve been reminding myself lately that creativity doesn’t always have to be productive. Sometimes it’s simply making something beautiful, being present, and allowing myself to receive rather than create for someone else.
A little stillness, a little art, a little nature. Exactly what my soul needed.
More days like this, please. ✨ by @amandamichaelart

Rich in life. 🤍

I left the career that looked good on paper to see what would happen if I actually bet on myself.

Now I spend my days painting, creating, raising my girls, and figuring out what it means to build a life around the things I love.

Still building it. Still figuring it out. But damn, I’m glad I chose this life.

Follow along — I think we’re just getting started. ✨ by @amandamichaelart

Things I learned after doing my first art vendor fair 🎨✨

I went into my first art fair thinking mostly about what I needed to bring.

I left thinking about everything I’ll do differently next time 😂

A few things I learned:

✨ People want to hear the story behind the art.
✨ Your booth is part of the art—how you display your work matters.
✨ Bring more business cards than you think you’ll need.
✨ Not everyone who loves your work will buy that day—and that doesn’t mean they won’t come back.
✨ Have pieces at different price points.
✨ Talk to people. Some of the best moments weren’t sales, but conversations.
✨ Make it ridiculously easy for people to find you online after they leave.
✨ You will absolutely bring things you never touch…and forget something you desperately need.
✨ Wear comfortable shoes. Seriously.
✨ And take photos BEFORE the event starts because once people arrive, you will forget. 😂

But probably the biggest lesson: showing up matters.

There’s something completely different about watching someone stop in front of a painting you made, lean closer, ask about it, and connect with it in real life.

Online numbers can make you forget that sometimes.

First art fair officially behind me. Already thinking about the next one. 🤍
